Responsibilities
  • Manage operations and budgets, service delivery, projects, client relationships, health and safety, and emergency preparedness and business continuity for an assigned portfolio.
  • Provide leadership for direct reports, which may include Team Development Managers, Team Leads, Facility Services Coordinators and Technicians.
  • Participate fully in recruiting talent.
  • Provide mentoring, coaching and guidance to team members.
  • Recommend compensation adjustments objectively.
  • Manage all aspects of performance.
  • Manage service delivery to a portfolio of client accounts or a sufficiently large or complex single client account.
  • Ensure key performance indicator objectives are met.
  • Create, implement and document service delivery regimes for each client account.
  • Collaborate with internal and external parties on service delivery and manage escalated issues.
  • Oversee implementation of service delivery program changes.
  • Oversee service delivery activities and performance of internal team members, ensuring work is completed on time, safely and to quality requirements.
  • Recommend and implement best practices, sustainable practices and improvement initiatives to increase efficiency.
  • Collaborate with relevant parties to optimize the assigned portfolio and create value for the client.
  • Meet contractual service delivery obligations for designated client environments.
  • Resolve problems and conflicts, maintain communication with client account teams and clients, and provide written and oral reports in response to escalations.
  • Recommend solutions and implement appropriate actions for issues.
  • Monitor service delivery performance against established metrics and key performance indicators, identify gaps, and execute corrective action plans.
  • Monitor service delivery against agreed scope and escalate issues to senior management when required.
  • Provide on-call coverage to the front-line team with open availability.
  • Develop and maintain effective client relationships and ensure ongoing client satisfaction.
  • Act as the focal point for service delivery escalations.
  • Develop and execute emergency preparedness, risk management, disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Collaborate with relevant parties on incident-management requirements.
  • Act as the focal point and collaborate with the Environmental, Health, Safety and Security Team to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and requirements.
  • Monitor and ensure safe delivery of work performed in office and remote locations.
  • Develop and execute project plans for assigned projects.
  • Oversee project delivery and participate in large company-wide projects as a member of the Operations Centre team.
  • Liaise with relevant parties to deliver projects with minimum disruption to service delivery.
  • Meet the budget for the assigned service delivery team.
  • Liaise with operations and Finance team members to monitor expenses.
  • Review and approve expenditures.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance requirements are performed and related documentation is created and maintained.
  • Collaborate with Procurement and Supply Chain Administration teams to source and qualify vendors and procure goods and services.
  • Ensure adequate inventory of tools and supplies is available to operate facilities.
Desired Qualifications
  • Contact and/or Customer Service Professional accreditation.
  • Certified Facility Manager certification through the International Facility Management Association.
  • Certified Property Manager certification through the Institute of Real Estate Management.
  • Facility Management Administrator designation through the Building Owners and Managers Institute.
  • Real Property Administrator designation through the Building Owners and Managers Institute.

Veritas Capital to acquire facilities manager BGIS. July 17, 2026 | John McNulty Veritas Capital has agreed to acquire BGIS from CCMP Capital Advisors and Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCo). BGIS runs and maintains buildings and facilities - offices, data centers, and government, healthcare, and industrial sites - for large public and private organizations, handling the engineering, operations, and technology that keep those properties running, a service known in the industry as technical integrated facilities management (IFM). The company oversees more than 65,000 facilities totaling over 620 million square feet globally with a team of more than 12,000. Gord Hicks continues as chief executive officer and will lead the business with his management team. CCMP and AIMCo had backed BGIS since 2019. Veritas Capital, a technology investor focused on companies operating at the intersection of technology and government, manages over $54 billion in assets. James Dimitri, partner and co-head of flagship private equity at Veritas, led the transaction for the firm.
