Requirements
  • Must possess, at minimum, a nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Must have training in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices.
  • Must have at least two years of experience, preferably in a long-term care facility.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English and read technical procedures and policy and procedure manuals.
  • Must be able to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Must be able to make independent decisions, solve practical problems, and deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public.
  • Must have leadership and supervisory ability and be willing to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
  • Must be able to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures necessary to provide quality care.
  • Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care to residents.
  • Must be knowledgeable about nursing and medical practices and procedures and the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing care facilities.
  • Must possess a current, unencumbered, active registered-nurse license in the state.
  • Must hold current CPR certification.
  • Must maintain required continuing education and licensing and remain in good standing with the State Board of Nursing.
  • Must be able to move intermittently, communicate understandably in English, cope with mental and emotional stress, function independently, and work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies.
  • Must be able to push, pull, move, or lift at least 25 pounds to a height of at least five feet and carry that weight at least 50 feet.
  • Must meet the facility's general health requirements, including a medical and physical examination.
  • Must be able to work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and sometimes hostile people.
  • Must be able to assist with resident evacuation during emergencies when necessary.
  • Must be willing to work beyond normal hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary and be subject to emergency call-back.
  • Must comply with confidentiality, protected health information, information-security, safety, sanitation, infection-control, and hazardous-material procedures.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the Director of Nursing Services with directing the daily nursing-service functions in accordance with applicable rules, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Develop, maintain, and update nursing-service policies, procedures, manuals, job descriptions, and reference materials.
  • Ensure nursing-service personnel comply with procedures, job descriptions, dress codes, safety regulations, infection-control procedures, and resident-care requirements.
  • Prepare written and oral reports and recommendations for the Director and facility committees.
  • Coordinate nursing services with other resident services and participate in quality-assurance, facility-survey, and committee activities.
  • Review, update, and help plan resident discharge plans and make them available to the Care Plan Committee.
  • Admit, transfer, and discharge residents and complete accident and incident reports.
  • Maintain sufficient licensed-nurse and certified-nursing-assistant staffing for each shift and develop work assignments.
  • Delegate authority and responsibilities to Charge Nurses and supervise nursing-service personnel.
  • Conduct daily rounds, monitor absenteeism and staffing, review complaints and grievances, and report problem areas to the Director.
  • Participate in employee performance evaluations, determine shift staffing requirements, and recommend employee dismissals and transfers.
  • Inform nursing personnel about new admissions and ensure rooms are ready; greet and escort newly admitted residents as needed.
  • Make rounds with physicians, encourage timely documentation, and report untimely physician visits.
  • Plan resident care with residents, families, and physicians and notify physicians and next of kin of changes in resident condition.
  • Visit residents daily, observe and evaluate physical and emotional status, and provide direct nursing care as necessary.
  • Start intravenous lines, obtain specimens, take temperatures, pulses, respirations, blood pressures, and other required measurements.
  • Review nursing notes, medication cards, treatments, and care plans for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to orders and resident wishes.
  • Monitor medication passes and treatment schedules and authorize restraints when necessary under facility policy.
  • Inspect treatment areas and ensure clean, safe, and sanitary conditions.
  • Meet with residents and family members, arrange transportation for discharged residents, and notify families and funeral homes of deaths when requested.
  • Develop, plan, conduct, and schedule in-service training and assist with clinical supervision of nurse-aide trainees.
  • Assist with safety standards, occupational-exposure reporting, personal protective equipment, hand hygiene, fire-safety, disaster-preparedness, and infection-control programs.
  • Recommend and maintain adequate medication, medical-supply, and equipment inventories and participate in preventive-maintenance and safe-equipment procedures.
  • Participate in resident assessments, comprehensive care plans, MDS scheduling and revision, RAPs and Triggers, and reviews of nursing treatments.
  • Monitor economic conditions and recommend nursing-service and equipment adjustments to the Director.
  • Maintain liaison with residents, families, support departments, medical staff, government agencies, and other stakeholders to plan resident needs.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge and experience with PCC are preferred.
  • Experience in a long-term care facility is preferred.

PACS Group beats Q1 estimates with $0.50 EPS and $1.42B revenue despite 12.5% year-to-date stock decline

PACS Group acquires Alaska care facility, plans 150-bed skilled nursing centre by 2028

PACS Group has acquired Ridgeway Senior Living, a post-acute care facility in Anchorage, Alaska, marking its fourth property in the state. PACS Group has appointed Carey P. Hendrickson as chief financial officer, effective 27 April 2026. Hendrickson brings nearly four decades of financial leadership across healthcare, senior living and media sectors. Most recently, Hendrickson served as CFO of U.S. Physical Therapy, overseeing 779 outpatient clinics across 44 states. He previously held CFO roles at Capital Senior Living Corporation, managing 128 communities across 23 states, and Belo Corp. He succeeds Mark Hancock, PACS's co-founder and executive vice chairman, who will retire by 30 June 2026 whilst remaining on the board as vice chairman. PACS Group has announced that co-founder and chief financial officer Mark Hancock will retire on 30 June 2026. He will continue serving on the company's board of directors as vice chairman. Hancock co-founded PACS in 2013 with Jason Murray, starting with two post-acute care facilities in San Diego. Under his leadership, the company expanded to 323 facilities across 17 states, serving over 31,700 patients daily and generating $5.29 billion in revenue in 2025, representing 29.3% year-on-year growth. PACS Group, a leading post-acute healthcare platform, has appointed Dr Patrick Conway to its board of directors. Dr Conway currently serves as CEO of Optum, UnitedHealth Group's health services division with revenues exceeding $200 billion. From 2011 to 2017, Dr Conway served as deputy administrator for innovation and quality at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, where he also held roles as director of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation and chief medical officer.
