Requirements
  • The candidate must hold a terminal degree, such as a Master of Fine Arts or a Doctor of Philosophy, in an appropriate field for Art.
  • The candidate should be an outstanding artist/scholar and must demonstrate teaching excellence and versatility in order to jump into an existing curriculum with creative and critical pedagogical approaches.
  • The candidate should have the ability to teach Art courses across the curriculum, including introductory courses, intermediate classes, advanced techniques seminars, and capstone practicums.
  • The candidate should have experience or evidence of teaching, as indicated by the requirement to provide evidence of teaching experience (syllabi, teaching portfolio, etc.) during application.
Responsibilities
  • Teach Art courses ranging from introductory to capstone practicums, including intermediate classes and advanced techniques seminars.
  • Contribute to the Art curriculum with emphasis on visual arts (drawing, painting, and modeling), art and architectural history, digital imaging and computer art, animation and game design, and video production.
  • Jump into an existing curriculum with creative and critical pedagogical approaches and adapt to course needs as opportunities arise.
  • Participate in teaching opportunities on a course-by-course basis as needed and be part of the adjunct faculty pool.
  • Submit evidence of teaching experience as part of the application process.
