- Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) experience with hands-on fieldwork to locate, identify, and map underground utilities
- Proficiency with geophysical locating tools (electromagnetic locators, ground-penetrating radar (GPR), vacuum excavation (potholing))
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulatory compliance during field operations
- Ability to collect GPS data and photographs and maintain accurate field documentation
- Familiarity with ASCE 38 standards or ability to apply SUE methodologies in practice
- Conduct field investigations to locate and identify underground utilities using SUE techniques (ASCE 38 standards)
- Collect and interpret data using geophysical locating tools such as electromagnetic locators, ground-penetrating radar (GPR), and vacuum excavation (potholing)
- Prepare high-quality utility maps, CAD drawings, and reports detailing utility location and condition
- Classify utility quality levels (QL-A through QL-D) based on field findings and project scope
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and surveyors to integrate utility data into broader project deliverables
- Maintain accurate documentation of field findings, including GPS data collection and photographs
- Ensure safety procedures and regulatory compliance during all field operations
- Support utility coordination efforts with public agencies and private utility owners
- Experience with CAD drawings and reports detailing utility location and condition
- Familiarity with utility coordination with public agencies and private utility owners
- Strong communication and coordination skills in multi-discipline project environments
