Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • A valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities
  • Create a safe and supportive environment by providing consistent, compassionate care and supervision that supports patients' emotional and physical well-being.
  • Guide and encourage patients through daily schedules, including therapy, group activities, meals, and transitions.
  • Lead or support experiential activities such as mindfulness practices, recreation, and group experiences.
  • Model calm, respectful behavior and healthy coping strategies to build trust and emotional safety.
  • Remain grounded and responsive during high-stress or emotionally charged situations and help restore calm using established strategies.
  • Collaborate and communicate with team members to support a connected, unified care environment.

  • A bachelor's degree in psychology, counseling, or sociology is preferred.
  • A patient-first mindset and commitment to high standards of care are preferred.
  • Flexibility in a fast-paced, changing environment is preferred.

Newport Healthcare operates a network of adolescent and young adult mental-health programs through Newport Academy, offering residential and outpatient care across the United States. It combines evidence-based therapies such as CBT, DBT, and EMDR with experiential activities like equine therapy, art, and yoga, delivered along a continuum that includes residential treatment, Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), and therapeutic day schools. Care is provided on a fee-for-service basis and coordinated with major insurers to support families. The goal is to address root causes of high-risk behaviors and co-occurring disorders, empower teens, restore families, and promote lasting mental wellness.
