Requirements
  • 15+ years of progressive organizational strategy experience. Experiences should include leadership/technical/functional and/or consulting expertise in organizational design, operations, analytics, finance/procurement, portfolio/project mgmt. and/or continuous improvement
  • Proven business leader with the desire and experience driving strategic change and operational execution, process transformation, change management and communication capabilities
  • Experienced developer of high-performing global multi-disciplinary teams (larger teams and/or scaling teams) including project leaders, consultants, data scientists, and technologists
  • Leads with innovation and curiosity and demonstrated experience creating new solutions to complex challenges inclusive of appropriate risk-taking, governance and due diligence while establishing a compelling vision and go-forward approach
  • Ability to quickly establish him/herself as a trusted and strong influential leader within the C-suite and the broader organization, including the BMS Leadership Team, key strategy and operations leads within the functions, and other key stakeholders across HR, procurement, finance, corporate affairs and outside of the company
  • Ability to establish an operating culture within the team that strongly supports diversity and inclusion aligned with the corporate objectives to drive leadership development, personal and professional growth, and a consistently high level of performance
  • Extensive project and portfolio management experience and skills on managing enterprise-scaled organizational design efforts
  • Strong decision-making skills through demonstrated ability to leverage evidenced-based insights and sound judgement
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, streamline and simplify complex concepts for broader audience
  • Demonstrated success driving optimal business results in a large complex corporate environment with multiple priorities and tight timelines

  • An astute understanding of the power of technology, data, and analytics to drive business process and innovation efforts as well as proven track record of managing enterprise-wide tradeoffs

  • A bachelor's degree and an MBA or PhD is strongly preferred
  • A Business Administration/Organizational Design specialty or degree concentration or applicable business experience (experience running a business, P&L or budget) is preferred
Responsibilities
  • Leverages business strategy, people strategy, external best practices and organizational insights to deliver bold and innovative global organizational and talent solutions; more specifically build and execute proper talent and workforce plans to support continuous evolution of the business functions from short-term immediate resolution through long-term strategic alignment to the enterprise strategy
  • Applies “systems thinking” and leads change for effectiveness of organization performance through the use of metrics and analytics in a way that drives business performance
  • Applies judgment to data insights and trends to support business talent and organization decisions that drives organizational effectiveness and innovative and robust workforce planning, engagement strategies, and succession management
  • Maintains intimate familiarity with the drivers of value of our people & organization to BMS & GPS strategic priorities and our ability to deliver on our commitments to patients now and in future
  • Shapes our strategy and capability build to unlock the potential of our people and organization to achieve full value in enabling GPS strategic priorities holistically and for Strategy & Business Excellence, Product Development and Global Supply Chain
  • Provides a global organizational framework and focused effort in driving business performance and foster cooperation across the enterprise
  • Partners with respective S&BE and PD leads to thought-partner and ensure optimal HR support, drives execution excellence through the People Services team
  • Co-leads the development and enhancement of our HR capabilities to strengthen our team's ability to deliver on strategic priorities, enhance our employee experience and improve our organizational vitality
  • Leads, participates and supports organizational design, strategic workforce planning, talent management, succession planning, competency development and performance management initiatives for overall GPS
  • Builds robust relationship and collaboration with Enterprise CoEs to maintain the right level of support across specific organizational initiatives and disciplines to deliver Enterprise strategic priorities
  • Leads and coaches GPS HR team members to build HR capabilities and next level of GPS HR leaders
  • Supports hiring, target-setting, performance assessment & career development of GPS HR team
  • Defines integrated approach to enable employee development and retention by leveraging appropriate and cutting-edge talent development methods
  • Collaborates closely with the GPS HRLT to drive consistency across GPS and initiatives
  • Takes a leadership role in creating a respectful and inclusive work environment while role-modeling the BMS Behaviors and fostering cultural diversity
