The replacement hospital is being constructed in the master-planned community of Carolina Forest, where McLeod Health (Florence, S.C.) also operates a freestanding emergency department (ED). McLeod Health welcomes these New physicians. McLEOD HEALTH 21 AUGUST 2026 McLeod Health welcomes Billy Mullinax, MD, and Sanjay Suwal, MD, to the medical staff. Dr. Mullinax joins the team at McLeod Cardiology Associates, where he provides comprehensive cardiovascular care with a focus on interventional cardiology. Dr. Mullinax earned his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, and his Internal Medicine Residency and fellowships in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology at Emory University School of Medicine. Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine and in Adult Echocardiography by the American Society of Echocardiography, Dr. Mullinax specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease, with clinical interests in complex coronary intervention and the management of pulmonary embolism. Dr. Suwal is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and brings several years of hospital medicine experience to McLeod. Prior to joining McLeod, he served as a Hospitalist at St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia, where he practiced since 2019. He has also provided hospitalist care at Cabell Huntington Hospital and Cornerstone Specialty Hospitals in Huntington, as well as Thomas Memorial Hospital in Charleston, West Virginia. Dr. Suwal completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. He earned his medical degree from Kharkov National Medical University in Ukraine and previously practiced medicine in Nepal before completing his residency training in the United States.
