The software team is looking for a technical candidate with an interest in project management – ready to tackle any challenge. The project manager intern will work directly with the director of software engineering and product line manager to help bridge communication gaps, facilitate stellar meetings, maintain issue tracking, and support releases. The project manager intern will also write code to query, analyze, and report data.
The ideal candidate will be organized, pro-active, curious, able to converse with some technical depth, and a strong communicator. They will provide project management support to the internal teams helping deliver innovative and quality solutions to our customers. This is a great opportunity to work on real-world projects and make a tangible impact.
The ODSP (“Optical DSP”) Software Team develops firmware, APIs, and GUIs for Marvell’s Networking PAM4 DSPs used in data center optical modules. The software team owns all the software components that interact with the DSPs, including embedded firmware, customer SDK, lab test, and quality-assurance. The software team is a critical part of the product development flow and is the go-to group for getting things done, whether in the field or the lab.
Marvell’s DSPs are used in 100Gbps to 1.6Tbps optical modules in every major cloud data center around the world. Even the data used for this job description has travelled through many of Marvell’s DSPs to reach your computer, and our products are a key part of the biggest AI clusters that power all the latest generative AI projects.
What You Can Expect
- Assist in planning and follow-up to ensure efficient project execution and timely completion
- Set-up and facilitate purposeful meetings that add value to attendees
- Track project progress and report on key metrics and status
- Work with developers to write customer facing documentation for specific features
- Listen attentively to identify potential risks and work to mitigate them across products
- Develop scripts and automation to facilitate data based decision making
What We’re Looking For
- Candidate already has, or is currently pursuing, a degree in CS/EE or related technical field(s)
- 1+ years of related course work
- Must be curious and driven to learn more about this technically deep field
Preferred Requirements:
- Pursuing an MBA or engineering management degree
- Keen interest in project management and enjoys working with others
- Extremely organized with the ability to multitask and think on your feet while under pressure
- Strong communicator able to comprehend and digest complex concepts and clearly articulate them (both verbally and in writing)
- Able to identify when people are not aligned and help nudge the conversation to close communication gaps
- Interested in tracking activities, understanding status, and willing to escalate issues when appropriate
- High-level understanding of the software development flow and tools, from issue tracking (Jira), development (C, python), continuous integration (Jenkins), and regression testing
- Passion for bleeding edge tech and strong desire to learn
- Independently driven and motivated to succeed
