Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in mathematics, actuarial science, business, or a related field is preferred.
  • Six or more years of experience in the actuarial field is required.
  • An FSA designation is required.
  • Experience modeling Defined Contribution plans, Individual Annuities, or Structured Assets is required.
  • Experience interacting across multiple departments or business lines and presenting to executive leadership is required.
  • Experience with risk management of spread margin investment products, cash flow testing, and GGY AXIS modeling software or other modeling software is sought.
Responsibilities
  • Perform high-level actuarial work supporting the Individual Annuities and Retirement Plans departments.
  • Analyze significant and complex issues using quantitative, qualitative, forward-looking, and organizational factors.
  • Act independently to determine methods and procedures for new assignments.
  • Serve as a resource and mentor to others in the actuarial career.
  • Provide leadership in key areas of responsibility.
  • Develop networks across the department and organization.
  • Lead key projects and initiatives.
  • Manage projects, work with stakeholders, and resolve conflicts.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and influence management decision-making.
  • Work closely with Retirement Plans finance and corporate finance on cash flow testing.

  • Prior management experience would enable immediate progression into leading a group of student actuaries.
  • Potential to grow into a role leading a small team of actuaries.
