Requirements
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of real estate loan, loan servicing, and financial institution experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience using Symitar or other related core banking systems.
Responsibilities
  • Process daily cash management activities, including payment exceptions, fund transfer requests, wire transfer requests, and accurate fund disbursements.
  • Post payments received and submit Service Events for timely processing of payments, payoffs, and escrow funds.
  • Balance payment and new loan files between LFCU and the sub-servicer, troubleshoot discrepancies, resolve exceptions, and report recurring issues or trends to management.
  • Review paid-off loan reports; set up and remove auto-pay for new and existing loans.
  • Fulfill sub-servicer requests and document requests for paid-in-full loans.
  • Answer member and internal customer calls, resolve concerns, and serve as a liaison between the sub-servicer and the Credit Union regarding loan adjustments, concerns, and credit bureau disputes.
  • Monitor and respond to Service Events within the service-level agreement.
  • Audit legal files for accuracy and completeness, track outstanding documentation requests, maintain loan files, and ensure discrepancies are corrected.
  • Transfer daily and monthly reports from the mortgage loan servicer website to shared folders and ensure proper tracking and archival.
  • Prepare reconveyance documents for first and second trust deeds and home equity lines of credit, update tracking records, and ship reconveyance packages to designated trustees.
  • Prepare loan demands for home equity loans, process payoffs, and coordinate with title and escrow companies.
  • Contribute to programs and methods that improve efficiency and service quality.
  • Maintain insurance records and communicate with insurance companies as required.
  • Order and track department supplies.
  • Process subordinations, re-amortizations, and title and escrow requests.
  • Audit adjustable-rate mortgage loan adjustments for accurate change dates and interest-rate recalculations.
  • Assist with special projects and departmental initiatives and support reporting needs as directed by management.
  • Provide feedback to the Manager on recurring issues, system concerns, and improvement opportunities related to real estate servicing.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of mortgage servicing systems.
  • A four-year Bachelor's degree.
  • Ability to contribute to large projects and propose improvements within the assigned scope of work.

House Hearing On Cfpb Blasts Agency’S Structure And Claims Regulatory Overreach

Critics of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) said Wednesday (March 26) at a Capitol Hill hearing that the agency needs a restructuring, and has engaged in what they call “regulatory overreach” that merits a revisiting of its funding structure as well. The hearing, before the House Subcommittee on Financial Institutions, was titled “A New Era for the CFPB: Balancing Power and Reprioritizing Consumer Protections.”. In his opening remarks, Rep. Andy Barr, R-Ky., chair of the subcommittee, stated that “nowhere has overregulation and overreach” been as sharply in evidence at the CFPB.  He heralded the present era, under the new administration, where “those in charge prioritize administrative law over regulation by enforcement, avoiding extortionary civil investigative demands (or CIDs).”  Barr underscored legislation he’s recently introduced to restructure the CFPB, including the TABS Act, which would shift the funding structure to the congressional appropriations process
