Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • One year of experience as a qualified Medical Receptionist is required.
  • Dermatology experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is required or expected.
  • Experience with EMA PM and electronic medical records is a plus.
Responsibilities
  • Assist patients by phone with appointments and medical inquiries.
  • Clarify patient requests to accommodate immediate needs and preferences.
  • Use professional presentation, call-control, and phone-etiquette practices.
  • Understand patient priorities through questioning, active listening, and restatement.
  • Adapt call flow based on patient requests and priorities.
  • Apply medical scheduling knowledge to insurance plans and appointment types.
  • Optimize provider schedules through efficient scheduling.
  • Collect patient demographics, insurance plans, and reasons for visits.
  • Run insurance eligibility checks and update insurance plans as needed.
  • Handle prescription refill requests and coordinate with in-house medical assistants.
  • Update account records with concise and detailed notes.
  • Partner with medical offices and medical assistants.
  • Achieve call-volume and average-handle-time targets.
  • Consult team leaders and supervisors to resolve escalated requests.
