You will provide teammates with new test protocol, results, and data analysis they need to make the most innovative and highest quality bikes possible. You will also develop a deep understanding of structural analysis, manufacturing methods, and data acquisition, setting you up for a long lasting, successful career with us.
How you’ll make a difference
- Perform vibration analysis on bike components to establish PSD testing profiles
- Perform Data acquisition and analysis to understand the stresses and loads on bicycle frames, forks, and components.
- Coach entry level engineers on DAQ methods and experiment design
- Create optimized test plans tailored to specific product, identifying areas or risk where new test protocol is needed
- Take ownership of new product, ensuring the proper testing plans are in place and followed
- Perform standardized testing in times of high volume
- Collaborate with other R&D teams to import large sets of ride data to be used by multiple engineering functions
What you need to win
- 4+ years of experience in a similar role
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Material Science preferred
- Able to switch from “behind the desk” to “on the floor” engineer multiple times daily. This is a hands-on job.
- Data acquisition/analysis knowledge is necessary. Some tools include linear potentiometers, accelerometers, strain gauges, load cells. Software such as MATLAB, Python Lab view etc.
- Experience with vibration analysis and PSD profile creation
- Experience with MTS test equipment and software is strongly desired
- Ability to work well with others and communicate well across multiple time zones globally.
- CAD experience both designing parts and creating engineering drawings, we use Pro E/Creo
- Strong troubleshooting skills, these will be needed for solving problems with product, test design, and repair of shop equipment

Pay
Below is a summary of compensation elements for this role at the company if based in the following locations:
California Base Pay Range: $71,439 - $117,875
At Specialized, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package and will depend on your work experience, skills, certification, and location.
