Example projects you’ll lead:

• BioRender’s Poster Builder tool where scientists can now design beautiful posters in minutes
• Building tooling to measure and monitor editor performance - this will enable us to detect critical issues before releases
• Custom implementation of text with a canvas renderer to improve performance, deploy highly requested features (including lists), and improve the NPS of text-heavy files like posters

You will:

• Manage, support, and grow a team of 8+ engineers on the Editor team who are responsible for deploying all features to the canvas and surrounding UI in the editor
• Cultivate a supportive and positive engineering culture where the team is empowered to do their best work and deliver the best graphics editor for scientists in the world
• Own the technical architecture of the editor and drive the ​​strategy and priorities of editor related features all while advocating for a user-first approach 
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders (leadership, Creative, CX, and Product teams) to become the point of contact for all things related to the editor
• Partner with the Product Manager to ensure that the team is using agile methodologies
• Set the team up for success by working with engineers on their personal objectives and creating personal development plans

Our ideal fit:

• Experience managing high performing product engineers and consistently delivering value to users
• A track record of establishing processes or introducing tools that enable engineers to move more efficiently
• Hands-on experience in modern large-scale web applications development (React is a plus)
• Collaborating successfully with recruiting to build a remarkable A-player engineering team
