In response to continued, rapid growth in our EV leasing business, we’re expanding our Finance Operations Team. The team is right at the heart of everything we do, managing high volumes of vehicle purchases, our relationships with banks / funders and of course ensuring that our customers are looked after.
We approach Finance Operations from a tech-first perspective, automating wherever possible and focusing our people on driving efficiencies and adding real value to the business. The Finance Operations Manager will play a key role in taking this function to the next level.
Reporting to our Head of Finance Operations, you will support the operational finance activities related to Octopus EV’s fleet of vehicles on lease to consumer and business clients. Non-fleet finance activities (all overheads, payroll, R&D etc) will be the responsibility of our Group Finance team.
What you’ll do...
- Ensure transactions related to vehicle purchases, finance agreements with third-party banks, customer rentals etc. are managed correctly and any reported requirements
- Manage and process amendments to customer contracts when vehicles are returned early or where clients contract request changes (e.g. to mileage, term etc.)
- Oversee the production of invoices for monthly rentals and other ad-hoc payments from clients (automated via our finance system, but requires oversight)
- With support from our Tech Team and Group Finance Team, maintain our finance system such that it produces the correct transaction outputs for monthly accounts for each product and lease type we offer
- Review the payments we make to finance houses each month to ensure they are accurate and reflect the vehicles we have funded
- Support ad-hoc requirements; customer queries, FCA/ONS reporting, analytical exercises – e.g. cashflow forecasting
What you’ll need...
- A numerate / finance background, but not necessarily a fully qualified accountant (may be part-qualified or have gained experience on the job)
- Experience in an operational finance role
- Ideally will have worked in a car rental or leasing finance team
- Ideally will have worked with integrated fleet management and accounting systems
- To be keen to get stuck in and build new processes from scratch in areas like debtor management, client invoicing, month end processing, maintenance budgeting etc.
