  • Ability to forecast and build cost budgets across a portfolio and manage those budgets through completion.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with manufacturing enterprise resource planning systems such as SAP or Visual.
  • Participation in the required drug and alcohol program for this safety-sensitive position and/or facility.
Responsibilities
  • Own the consolidated schedule across Spark Modular Data Center and Power Distribution Center building programs, including capacity with Production Planning and plant operations.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of project managers while setting standards for schedule quality, change discipline, cost accuracy, and customer communication.
  • Serve as the senior escalation point for modular customers, including executive-level schedule-impact and change-negotiation discussions.
  • Partner with Manufacturing Operations and Production Planning on line loading, takt-time alignment, labor forecasting, and bottleneck resolution across the modular build area.
  • Govern the engineering change process for modular products, enforce impact analysis and pricing discipline, obtain customer approval, maintain the portfolio risk register, and drive mitigation across engineering, supply chain, and production constraints.
  • Set margin and cost targets for each modular program and own delivery against them through close-out.
  • Partner with Project Controls in monthly economics reviews to validate cost-to-complete positions, including hours remaining, change-order capture, schedule position, and material exposure, and submit signed forecasts with recovery plans for variances.
  • Drive standardization across configurations by creating repeatable schedule templates, work-breakdown structures, budget templates, and close-out packages.

  • Own the modular executive dashboard covering throughput, on-time delivery, backlog, and margin across Spark Modular Data Center and Power Distribution Center programs.
  • Represent modular products in PMO-wide governance, including stage gates and post-mortem reviews, and enable project managers to report individual projects to senior and executive leadership.
  • Perform logic checks, float analysis, critical-path validation, and baseline change control on program schedules; audit and correct schedules rather than merely reporting them.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Acumatica.
  • Direct expertise managing change on first-of-a-kind manufacturing programs or highly complex projects while maintaining positive client relationships during significant project evolution.
  • Experience scaling a modular or prefabricated product line through rapid volume growth.
  • Background spanning both field construction and factory manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with industrialized building regulatory programs and third-party inspection regimes.
  • Experience implementing PMO standards, standard operating procedures, or stage-gate governance in a manufacturing organization.
  • Project Management Professional, Program Management Professional, or equivalent certification.

Crusoe Energy Systems uses wasted, stranded, or clean energy sources to power high-performance computing and AI workloads. It turns otherwise unused energy into scalable computing resources and offers technical support to enterprises in AI and data-intensive fields. Unlike traditional data centers, Crusoe colocates infrastructure at energy sources to capture excess energy and convert it into computer power, reducing emissions. Its goal is to help the energy transition by providing climate-aligned, reliable computing while boosting resource efficiency.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • September 15, 2026 Perplexity expands Crusoe's named-customer roster and utilization.
  • Jane Street's roughly $13 billion five-year deal signals durable enterprise demand.
  • Crusoe reported nearly 5 gigawatts contracted capacity, with pipeline above 40 gigawatts.

What critics are saying

  • Texas audits on August 8, 2026 target data-center permits, energy, water, and ownership.
  • Goodnight campus gas plans imply 4.5 million tons yearly CO2, fueling political backlash.
  • A $30 billion valuation and $1.375 billion raise create huge execution pressure by 2027.

What makes Crusoe unique

  • Crusoe vertically integrates power, manufacturing, and cloud, unlike pure-play neoclouds.
  • September 2026 Perplexity ties training and inference onto one Crusoe platform.
  • Tulsa plants make switchgear in-house, shortening data-center deployment cycles.

Crusoe signs multiyear Perplexity cloud deal for Nvidia AI chips

Crusoe has signed a multiyear cloud agreement to supply Perplexity with Nvidia AI chips for model training and inference, Bloomberg reported Tuesday. The deal's financial terms and capacity were not disclosed. Under the agreement, Crusoe will manage the technology throughout its operating life. More than 1,800 Crusoe employees will receive access to Perplexity's Enterprise Max product, which provides AI-powered search tools. The contract adds to Crusoe's growing cloud business, which recently secured a five-year agreement with Jane Street worth roughly $13 billion. In June, Crusoe reported 4.9 GW of contracted AI infrastructure capacity across its data centre projects and cloud platform, with a development pipeline exceeding 40 GW. Crusoe opened a 400,000-square-foot manufacturing plant in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Monday.

Crusoe opens second Tulsa facility, doubles workforce to 300 for AI infrastructure manufacturing

Crusoe has opened its second manufacturing facility in Tulsa, Oklahoma, adding 400,000 square feet to its operations and bringing its national manufacturing footprint to roughly 1 million square feet. The AI infrastructure company has hired more than 300 local workers across its two Tulsa sites, up from the 100 initially expected when the first facility opened in 2024. The facilities produce electrical equipment for AI infrastructure, including medium-voltage switchgear, low-voltage switchboards, electrical enclosures, industrial controls, and custom-fabricated copper busbar. The company has supplied more than 2,500 switchboards to its Stargate Project site in Abilene, Texas. Crusoe now employs more than 1,800 people, with 15,000 skilled workers across its sites. The company manufactures components in-house to reduce production time and maintain quality control.

Crusoe plans $1B expansion of Google-linked Texas data centre with two new buildings

Crusoe has registered two additional data-centre buildings at its Goodnight campus near Claude, Texas, with estimated construction costs totalling $1 billion, according to state filings. The buildings would add approximately 1.61 million square feet to the Armstrong County development, also known as Project Llano. Each single-storey structure is planned at roughly 805,380 square feet, with multiple data halls, office space and support areas. Public reporting has linked Google to the campus development through intermediary Ensign Infrastructure. Building 3 is scheduled for completion on 1 August, whilst Building 4 has a March 2027 completion date. Power plans include grid-supplied electricity and potential on-site generation, with a natural-gas plant proposal for up to 933 MW capacity. Separately, Crusoe announced a partnership with Aalo Atomics to examine modular nuclear generation for future data centres.

Crusoe and ON.energy to deploy 5GW of AI UPS™ across multiple hyperscale campuses

Crusoe and ON.energy have announced a partnership to deploy 5 gigawatts of AI UPS™ technology across multiple hyperscale campuses, with commissioning starting in 2026 and continuing into 2027. AI data centres create unprecedented grid challenges. During training, thousands of GPUs ramp up and down in synchronised bursts, causing power demand fluctuations hundreds to thousands of times daily. These load swings can propagate through interconnection points into transmission systems. ON.energy's patented AI UPS™ is a medium-voltage uninterruptible power system that sits between power sources and data centres. It decouples facilities from the grid, protecting equipment during voltage faults whilst preventing GPU load swings from affecting the grid. The technology has been validated against ERCOT's Large Load Interconnection requirements, meeting grid stability and voltage ride-through standards.
