Requirements
  • Knowledge of transformer manufacturing processes, including core assembly, winding, insulation, tank fabrication, vacuum processing, oil filling, and testing.
  • Understanding of transformer standards such as IEC 60076, IEEE/ANSI, and customer specifications.
  • Experience with quality tools including Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Control Plans, Statistical Process Control, Measurement System Analysis, Advanced Product Quality Planning, and Production Part Approval Process.
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and test procedures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and technical documentation skills.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional global environment.
  • Project planning and execution capability.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Seven to ten years of experience in Quality Engineering, preferably in transformer, electrical equipment, or heavy manufacturing industries.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project.
  • Experience with computer-aided design tools including NX, CATIA, Creo, and SolidWorks; enterprise resource planning systems such as SAP; and manufacturing execution systems including Simatic IT and Solumina.
  • Experience with Minitab14.
  • Experience with product lifecycle management systems including Siemens Teamcenter, PTC Windchill, and Dassault Innovia.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control plans, inspection procedures, and testing standards for transformer manufacturing.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with quality requirements and specifications.
  • Conduct in-process inspections and final product audits of transformers, components, and assemblies.
  • Review manufacturing records, test reports, and quality documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Work with cross-functional teams, local experts, partners, and suppliers to ensure the technical aspects of manufacturing processes are understood and accounted for as required.
  • Train Quality Inspectors and Lead Hands to follow Quality Inspection Instructions.
  • Prepare and perform Quality Management System audits to ensure that all procedures and instructions related to the Quality Management System are followed.
  • Lead the investigation of customer non-conformance reports and responses using the 8D Problem Solving methodology.
  • Provide technical support for issues related to new products, new customers, and qualification of new equipment and personnel.
  • Monitor, communicate, and improve key supply-chain key performance indicators, including Supplier On-Time Delivery, past-due items, Defective Parts Per Million, and waste; establish short- and long-term supplier quality goals.
  • Champion problem-solving and root-cause-analysis activities with suppliers and customers to eliminate recurrence of non-conformances.
  • Develop long-term supplier relationships and generate and implement cost-reduction ideas.
  • Ensure routine, type, and special transformer tests comply with IEC, IEEE, ANSI, IS, or customer-specific standards.
  • Verify calibration and maintenance of inspection, measuring, and testing equipment.
  • Analyze test results and identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Drive continuous-improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce scrap, and improve process capability.
  • Utilize Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Statistical Process Control tools.

  • Experience in transformer testing, quality systems, and manufacturing process control is preferred.

Hillhouse invests in Quest Global to accelerate engineering growth

Quest Global, a global outsourced engineering services provider, has secured a minority investment from Hillhouse Investment through a combination of primary capital infusion and share purchases from existing stakeholders. The transaction involves funds managed by Hillhouse Investment Management. The Singapore-based company, which employs over 21,500 people across 93 global delivery centres in 18 countries, will use the capital to advance strategic priorities and enhance its engineering capabilities for major original equipment manufacturers worldwide. AROBS acquires Quest Global Romania in all-stock deal with one-year lock-up

Romanian tech group AROBS is acquiring Quest Global Romania from Craiova in an all-stock transaction, marking the company's first acquisition paid entirely through share issuance. The newly issued shares will be subject to a one-year lock-up period. Quest Global Romania, headquartered in Craiova, employs approximately 110 specialists and provides software development, testing, embedded solutions and IT consulting services across sectors including semiconductors, healthcare and automotive. The company is part of Singapore-based Quest Global, which operates in 18 countries with over 22,000 employees. The acquisition strengthens AROBS's engineering capabilities and international presence. Quest Global Romania's management will continue under Ana-Maria Vasilescu's leadership. The transaction is expected to close in the first half of the year.
