Requirements
  • At least 10 years of very strong gas Construction & Maintenance experience
  • Administrative, communication and decision-making abilities
  • Strong leadership/managerial skills
  • Associates Degree and/or 10 years’ experience within the Natural Gas Pipelines
  • Strong knowledge and experience within the utility business
  • Excellent decision-making, project management, interpersonal and communications skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and influencing skills
  • Credible communicator and presenter at a senior level
Responsibilities
  • Plans and oversees work of gas departments
  • Supervises to ensure safe and efficient operation of the daily field activities of both Company and various contractor construction crews
  • May resolve customer issues when needed
  • May provide assistance to Technical Services on new construction and rebuilding existing infrastructure
  • Schedules the work of line or street crews
  • Manages the scope of projects and assigns the appropriate crew and skills balance
  • Arranges for any special equipment and ensures that all material needs are met
  • Administers damage claims and billing, leak reports, time sheets, store orders, job kitting, work order balancing, material review, compliance with safety rules and regulations, standards of excellence and/or service guarantees
  • Monitors accuracy of Gas Records for auditing purposes and ensure compliance
  • Oversees construction office and support budget management
  • May coordinate department activities with local and state highway departmental officials
  • Coordinates safety training, documentation, inspections, and accident investigations
  • May conduct contractor evaluations in support of project awards
  • Oversight inspections to support Bare Steel & Cast-Iron Piping replacements, Gate Stations, District Regulator upgrades

  • Strong Piping and Welding background
  • Ability to develop and communicate process improvement and champion change
  • Contributes to Unified Gas Standards improvements and training
