- Willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited educational institution prior to the start date.
- Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure from the respective Board of Pharmacy in the states within the district within 90 days of hire, per district guidelines.
- Must be a certified immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.
- Provide pharmacy consulting services to customers regarding effective medication usage, drug interactions, and preventive healthcare services such as immunizations.
- Ensure proper compounding, dispensation, review, and verification of prescribed medications within regulatory guidelines and company policies and procedures.
- Support efficient pharmacy workflow and assist the pharmacy manager in optimizing pharmacy financials, inventory management, and customer experience.
- Engage customers and patients by greeting them, offering assistance with products and services, resolving customer issues, and answering questions.
- Model and share customer service best practices with team members, including greeting customers, maintaining eye contact, showing courtesy, offering help proactively, identifying needs, and servicing customers until satisfied.
- Develop relationships with valuable customers by anticipating needs and proactively offering services, including patient consultation, medication management, drug therapy reviews, immunizations, flu shots, and diabetes awareness.
- Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, interactions, contraindications, patient information privacy, generic and lower-cost medicines, and over-the-counter products, referring them to medical providers as needed.
- Perform pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, medication management, and accurate dispensing of prescribed medications when necessitated by workload.
- Ensure the pharmacy operates according to regulations, company policies, and standards.
- Assist the pharmacy manager with procedures that promote efficient workflow, including assigning roles, coordinating activities, and soliciting employee suggestions.
- Perform pharmacy opening, closing, and shift-change duties.
- Ensure compliance with the Good Faith Dispensing policy and state and federal controlled substance laws when filling prescriptions.
- Maintain current knowledge of information technology associated with pharmacy systems, including Intercom Plus, registers, automation, and StoreNET, and propose and implement system enhancements.
- Process insurance claims accurately, resolve customer issues, prevent payment rejections, follow up with insurance companies and medical providers, and participate in third-party audits.
- Follow up with medical providers' offices to clarify medications, dosages, refills, interactions, and allergies; suggest alternative medications and answer provider questions.
- Perform retail, clinical, and wellness services such as immunizations, flu shots, diabetes awareness, and other preventive healthcare services.
- Assist the pharmacy manager and store leadership in analyzing pharmacy financial, customer service, and procedure-implementation performance data, asset protection, and inventory management; review key performance indicators.
- Develop and maintain relationships with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers and participate in community outreach activities.
- Partner with Central Pharmacy Operations on customer registration, third-party reviews, and customer issue resolution for Well Experience locations.
- In virtual environments, conduct virtual product reviews according to company procedures using technician photographs sent electronically during the F4 process.
- Assist the pharmacy manager with staff hiring and training.
- Reinforce the pharmacy manager's direction through coaching, constructive feedback, customer-service monitoring, and employee-development support.
- Promote teamwork and motivate team members by establishing expectations, monitoring progress, recognizing progress, and fostering a shared vision.
- Maintain current pharmacy and healthcare knowledge by reading pharmacy journals, company publications, and communications.
- Maintain required certifications, education credits, and company training, including People Plus Learning modules.
- Pursue professional development by monitoring performance, soliciting constructive feedback, and using the pharmacy manager and store manager as mentors and coaches.
- Support the pharmacy manager and store manager by communicating relevant corporate health and wellness services or strategy information to pharmacy staff.
