The Research Associate will be provided with training in clinical assessments and will gain experience in general research administration and the preparation of publications and conference presentations. This position is well-suited for individuals interested in pursuing graduate study in clinical psychology.

Purpose
The purpose of these two fixed-term (1 year) positions is to support a clinical trial funded by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) that examines the efficacy of an aerobic based exercise intervention on smoking cessation in adults with high anxiety sensitivity. There are two openings for this position as this trial requires two research associates. One position will require more data management while the other requires more administrative management.
Responsibilities
- Coordinating digital and community-based recruitment efforts for ongoing clinical trials.
- Interfacing with research and other study staff to maintain effective communication regarding participant scheduling, data management, and quality control.
- Communicating with study participants to ensure adherence to study protocol and consulting with principal investigators on appropriate management of participant problems and concerns.
- Management, cleaning, and preparation of data collected via online survey platforms.
- Development and management of weekly recruitment reports for principal investigators and weekly progress reports for participants.
- Overseeing data collection and study protocols.
- Supervision and training of undergraduate students conducting data entry and other study-related tasks.
- Conducting clinical interviews and assessments.
- Maintaining and revising IRB protocols assisting with research compliance reports and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology or a related field. Prior research experience (including experience as a student). Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
- Previous experience with data management and use of software programs for statistical analysis specifically REDCap and R-Studio
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior research experience in a psychology lab.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
