Requirements
  • Completion of a 2 year Chemistry related diploma/Certificate program required
  • 2 years or more experience in a lab environment gained through the completion of a 2 year or 4 year chemistry related program
Responsibilities
  • Transferring samples to flasks (ie/ removal of sample from cartridges, spiking of samples, transferring to flasks,)
  • End of shift clean-up, glassware cleaning
  • Preparation of solutions, glassware etc
  • Preparation of flasks (ie/ appropriate rinses, and labeling)
  • Transferring samples from flasks to autosampler vials (decant or filter)
  • Shaking of samples on lateral or wrist-action shaker (where applicable)
  • Labeling of vials
  • Loading samples on instruments (where applicable)
  • Daily Safety Inspections and Stretching
  • General maintenance and upkeep
  • Sonicate, evaporate, centrifuge sample according with the test method
  • Verification of lab equipment as required (e.g. Pipettors, Dispensers and Syringes)
  • The employee shall implement the Laboratory Quality Policy and perform their duties in accordance to existing project specific requirements, current Test Methods, study plans and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Compliance to Health & Safety policies and procedures and wear required Personal Protective equipment at all times
  • Other duties as assigned
Desired Qualifications
  • 4 year Bachelors Diploma/Degree in a Chemistry related program preferred
  • 1 to 2 years professional experience in a lab or analytical testing environment is an asset
