Requirements
  • 0-2 years related plant operating experience for Associate LNG Technician; at least 3 years related plant operating and maintenance experience for LNG Technician; at least 5+ years related plant operating and maintenance experience for Senior LNG Technician; ability to demonstrate knowledge of analytical chemistry and laboratory concepts and techniques, particularly related to analytical techniques for high-purity water; ability to demonstrate knowledge of environmental regulations; must be able to demonstrate basic computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to troubleshoot and solve equipment or process problems; ability to conduct site inspections or walk downs, including working at heights; must maintain a valid driver’s license; must be able to obtain a Transportation Work Identification Credential upon employment; ability to read and interpret engineering drawings including electrical and control schematics, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, and piping drawings; education: Associate degree or typically two years of related progressive work experience for candidates without associate degree; preferred degree: Electronic or Mechanical; must be able to obtain a TWIC upon employment; employees must be able to perform essential functions with or without accommodation; willingness to work in an industrial environment with field work including inspection, testing, service, repair, configuration, calibration, and installation of automated control systems, HMI consoles, network hardware, and related components; knowledge of Honeywell Experion and Allen Bradley control systems; knowledge of environmental regulation compliance systems; ability to provide guidance or training to less experienced Technicians and Operators; competent in workstation and server software and hardware troubleshooting and repair; strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel; ability to read and interpret DCS and instrumentation drawings.
Responsibilities
  • Operate, test, service, repair, configure, calibrate, and install automated control systems, Human Machine Interface consoles, network hardware, and related components in an LNG plant; work on complex control systems, troubleshoot and repair instruments and controls, and replace component parts as required; perform changes to existing Honeywell Experion logic and HMI graphics, and other local Programmable Logic Controllers to maintain the distributed control system network hardware and configuration under supervision or direction of a Senior or Lead; perform periodic backups on all distributed control systems and supporting computers; submit drawings and configuration changes made on the distributed control system, network, and field instrumentation; assist in training and guiding less experienced Technicians and address operations control system concerns; have a basic understanding of all plant distributed control systems, safety instrumented systems, PLCs, LNG regasification and liquefaction processes and control systems; understand control systems for plant utilities including air, water, power generation, and nitrogen; monitor or assist in the loading of LNG Barges; participate in training on environmental safety, operations and security procedures; recognize safety and environmental consequences of actions; maintain the highest levels of environmental and safety compliance; may perform LNG Technician (DCS) duties in a rotational shift environment including holidays, weekends, and nights; perform all duties in accordance with safety protocols and regulatory mandates; other duties as assigned; direct experience with operations, instrumentation, DCS, PLCs and computer systems; read and interpret electrical and control schematics, P&IDs, and piping drawings; submit drawings and configuration changes; monitor DCS and instrumentation; provide guidance and training to Technicians and Operators; conduct site inspections or walk downs, including working at heights; commission medium to large scale industrial control installations; maintain documentation related to the DCS and instrumentation; ensure environmental and safety compliance.
