Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Define and deploy the regional quality strategy for Grid Automation MENAT in alignment with global business quality priorities, the Zero Defect framework, and Lean operating principles.
  • Lead transformation initiatives to improve process capability, execution discipline, product and project quality, and customer outcomes across the region.
  • Establish and drive regional quality goals, KPIs, and operating rhythms focused on prevention, flow, waste reduction, execution excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure quality governance across projects, services, Integration Facilities, and regional operations, with clear accountability, tiered escalation, and disciplined follow-through.
  • Promote Lean thinking by embedding standardization, visual management, daily management, Kaizen, and PSR into regional quality processes.
  • Drive simplification and harmonization of quality processes across MENAT to reduce variation, improve responsiveness, and increase process maturity.
  • Own quality performance across the regional project and service execution lifecycle.
  • Ensure deployment of quality controls, quality gates, control plans, risk reviews, and lessons learned throughout project execution.
  • Lead management of non-conformances, PSR, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions to ensure timely closure and sustainable improvements.
  • Standardize key quality deliverables, handoff points, and escalation practices across the region to improve process flow and execution consistency.
  • Lead the quality strategy and improvement roadmap for regional Integration Facilities, ensuring process control, standardization, and right-first-time panel, cubicle, and system integration.
  • Drive preventive quality initiatives across Integration Facilities to reduce wiring defects, configuration errors, missing documentation, testing escapes, rework, and late-stage non-conformances.
  • Improve traceability, defect capture, and feedback loops between Engineering, Sourcing, Integration Facilities, and Project teams so recurring issues are addressed at root cause.
  • Lead Kaizen initiatives within Integration Facilities to improve workstation discipline, material flow, standard work adherence, visual management, and first-pass yield.
  • Drive PSR and root cause rigor for major defects and repeat issues originating in Integration Facilities, ensuring sustainable corrective and preventive actions.
  • Serve as the regional quality leader for critical customer issues and escalations, ensuring ownership, transparent communication, and timely resolution.
  • Partner with commercial, project, and service teams to strengthen customer confidence and improve customer quality experience across the MENAT region.
  • Lead customer issue resolution using containment, PSR, root cause analysis, corrective actions, verification of effectiveness, and prevention of recurrence.
  • Use customer feedback, complaints, warranty trends, commissioning findings, and field issue data to identify systemic gaps and prioritize Kaizen and Lean improvement actions.
  • Ensure consistent deployment and compliance of the Quality Management System, business processes, and applicable regional and regulatory requirements across MENAT.
  • Support internal and external audits, customer inspections, and compliance reviews, ensuring readiness, rapid response, and timely closure of findings.
  • Drive standardization of quality tools, reporting, leader standard work, and governance practices across projects, Integration Facilities, and operations in the region.
  • Establish Lean management rhythms including daily management, KPI reviews, operating cadences, PSR forums, Kaizen events, problem-solving reviews, and action tracking.
  • Define and monitor regional quality metrics including NCR trend and aging, COPQ, defect leakage, first-time quality, test failure trends, audit findings, customer complaints, warranty trends, process adherence, and corrective action closure effectiveness.
  • Track Integration Facility KPIs including first-pass yield, rework rate, wiring defects, documentation errors, test escapes, punch list closure, and on-time release quality.
  • Use data analytics and visual management to identify systemic issues, separate signal from noise, and prioritize high-impact quality and Lean initiatives.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and structured problem-solving methodologies such as Kaizen, 5 Why, Ishikawa, PSR, and mistake-proofing concepts.
  • Track and improve process capability, quality-related cycle-time losses, and recurring failure modes to improve business performance and customer outcomes.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Integration Facility, panel build, system assembly, factory test, or related operational quality environments is strongly preferred.
  • A strong understanding of project execution quality, field quality, supplier quality, and Integration Facility quality in complex regional environments is desired.
  • Familiarity with Lean operating methods such as daily management, Kaizen, PSR, process mapping, and visual performance management is desired.
  • The ability to lead change, influence across functions, and drive accountability in a matrixed organization is desired.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers and senior business leaders, are desired.
  • Systems-thinking ability to understand how process variation impacts the full project and customer value stream is desired.

Big Tech burns $13.5B as AI buildout sends Treasury yields to 4.79%

They argue that context matters more than absolute rate levels. Companies borrowing at 5% to fund projects returning 30-40% benefit from current rates, whilst those earning less than borrowing costs face pressure. The analysts note that AI-related corporate debt issuance reached roughly $1.5 trillion this year, driving yields higher. Alphabet posted its first negative free cash flow since 2004, burning $5.9 billion in Q2 as capital expenditure hit $44.9 billion. Amazon swung to negative $7.6 billion on a trailing basis. However, negative cash flow can signal productive investment rather than distress, the analysts suggest.

GE Vernova and Quanta Services are positioned as resilient stocks that could withstand market volatility, according to a new analysis. Both companies are benefiting from surging demand for electrical infrastructure driven by AI and data centre expansion. GE Vernova, spun off from General Electric in 2024, has seen its stock rise more than sixfold since debut. The company's backlog expanded 37% year over year to $176.3 billion at the end of Q2 2026, nearly four times its projected annual revenue of $46.2 billion. Quanta Services, an energy infrastructure builder, reported a backlog of $53.4 billion in Q2 2026, up 49% year over year. The company's revenue is projected to grow 39% in 2026. Analysts expect GE Vernova's revenue and adjusted EBITDA to grow at compound annual growth rates of 17% and 60% respectively from 2025 to 2028.

GE Vernova hires Rivian CFO Claire McDonough, leaving EV maker without clear successor

GE Vernova has hired Claire McDonough as CFO, effective 1 January, leaving electric vehicle maker Rivian to find her successor. McDonough joined Rivian in January 2021 and helped take the company public through a $13.7 billion IPO that November. She also negotiated Rivian's technology joint venture with Volkswagen, which agreed to invest up to $5.8 billion. Rivian shares fell more than 6% following the announcement, whilst GE Vernova shares declined about 3%. Analysts cited Rivian's lack of a clear succession plan as a factor weighing on its shares. Derek Mulvey, Rivian's VP of finance, is expected to serve as interim CFO after McDonough's departure. McDonough will join GE Vernova in November, succeeding Kenneth Parks, who is retiring.

SpaceX builds turbine foundry to break AI power bottleneck, cut GE Vernova wait times by 18 months

Elon Musk's SpaceX is building a foundry in Bastrop, Texas, to manufacture blades and vanes for industrial gas turbines, according to The Information. Musk confirmed the move on X, saying in-house casting could accelerate natural gas turbines coming online by up to 18 months. The initiative targets the same supply chain bottleneck GE Vernova has flagged to investors. GE Vernova CEO Scott Strazik said the company pushed suppliers to add capacity in 2024, sometimes providing capital for new furnaces. GE is mostly sold out through 2030 and aims to increase annual turbine production from 20 gigawatts this year to 30 GW by decade's end. SpaceX has committed over $2.8 billion to gas turbines over three years to support its Colossus data centres near Memphis. The move addresses growing power demand from AI infrastructure expansion.

GE Vernova and LS Electric form JV to target South Korea's HVDC market

GE Vernova has formed a joint venture with LS Electric to strengthen its position in the high-voltage direct current sector. Announced at the CIGRE 2026 event in Paris, the partnership will focus on South Korea's voltage source converter-based HVDC projects, which are crucial for transmitting renewable energy from the southwestern region to greater Seoul.
