Requirements
  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college
  • Three years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience
  • One year of administrative capacity or supervising staff performing clerical/administrative work
  • An associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college
  • Four years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience
  • One year of administrative supervisory experience
  • A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent
  • Five years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience
  • One year of administrative supervisory experience
  • Education and/or experience equivalent to the above qualifications
  • One year of administrative or supervisory experience
  • Education above the high school level may be substituted for general clerical/administrative experience
Responsibilities
  • Maintaining and updating the agency’s vacancy reports and other tracking systems related to recruitment and retention activities
  • Administering civil service hiring pools based on the agency’s needs
  • Ensuring all list actions appointments are completed within the prescribed DCAS timeframe
  • Conducting new-hire employee orientations
  • Working with hiring managers to ensure new employees’ successful workplace transition
  • Providing information to employees about employment policies and health benefits
  • Participating in department initiatives, including special events
  • Implementing Personnel Actions for new hires, rehires, transfers from other agencies, and current employees
  • Generating reports from City HRIS systems
  • Ensuring prompt evaluation, review, and response to all employee concerns and inquiries
