Requirements
  • A J.D. or equivalent degree from a well-respected U.S. law school.
  • A license to practice law in at least one state.
  • At least 6 years of relevant working experience, including strong training at an international law firm.
  • A deep understanding of U.S. federal and state employment laws.
  • The ability to navigate a range of complex employment-related legal issues.
  • Substantial experience in employment law.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships and collaborate effectively within the organization.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and drive matters to resolution.
  • An understanding of business needs and the ability to align legal strategies accordingly.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly.
  • Strong legal reasoning, judgment, negotiation, analytical, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • A commitment to uphold high standards of personal and professional ethics.
Responsibilities
  • Advise on employment law matters across multiple jurisdictions, with an emphasis on U.S. employment and labor law and including other global jurisdictions, while ensuring compliance with local regulations and company policies.
  • Provide guidance on labor relations, including negotiations, collective bargaining agreements, and dispute resolution.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate employment-related agreements, including contracts, non-disclosure agreements, and separation agreements.
  • Assist with employee relations issues, including investigations, and work with the compliance team on compliance investigations, hotline reporting, grievances, and disciplinary actions.
  • Support the development and implementation of company-wide employment policies and training programs.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks associated with employment practices by implementing proactive strategies and best practices.
