Requirements
  • Engineer I requires 0-2+ years of related engineering experience and an engineering degree from an accredited college or university, internship preferred.
  • Engineer II requires an engineering degree from an accredited college or university and 1-3 years of experience.
  • For placement in the Engineer job series, candidate must possess a four-year engineering degree from an ABET accredited program, or a four-year degree from a country with Washington Accord accreditation recognized by ABET, or a four-year degree in Physics, Chemistry, Math, or Engineering Technology with a post-graduate ABET accredited degree in the same discipline, or hold a valid U.S. Professional Engineer license.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, design, analyze, and maintain systems to uphold data quality of gas measurement information to meet compliance requirements and ensure analytical accuracy; identify gaps in knowledge for personnel training.
  • Develop and maintain dashboard visualizations to identify and resolve issues causing lost and unaccounted for gas and maximize fuel gas revenue, prevent measurement discrepancies with customers, and increase business efficiency.
  • Audit gas measurement test reports and maintain a system to track compliance issues.
  • Manage operations procedures related to measurement equipment and testing to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Facilitate, develop, and conduct internal measurement training.
  • Design gas measurement, regulation, and control systems to ensure accurate, efficient, reliable, safe, and compliant operations for capital projects.
  • Provide engineering support to technicians, specialists, and other internal/external customers to promote quality measurement practices and reduce LAUF gas.
  • Develop reports to verify data accuracy for compliance requirements.
  • Develop dashboards for monitoring LAUFG and other measurement issues.
  • Aid in development of software to proactively detect issues with equipment via data analysis.
  • Create and improve rule-based alarms within SCADA and other applications to identify measurement issues.
  • Perform testing and evaluation of new gas measurement and gas quality equipment.
  • Manage data quality of measurement test reports and review procedures to identify issues and gaps in operations personnel knowledge.
  • Develop, standardize, and maintain technical documentation, drawings, test procedures, installation procedures, and training manuals, and manage internal standards for consistency, accuracy, and accessibility.
  • Design, manage, and maintain internal SharePoint sites for Measurement Engineering & Support.
  • Organize, conduct, and develop training classes; manage GMS and MCC Tech training classes twice a year over a 12-week period; aid in developing and designing a new training lab.
  • Perform engineering studies of existing facilities.
  • Design, develop, and support measurement and regulation systems and facilities including meters, regulators, valves, and other measurement related equipment.
  • Manage multiple issues, projects, and personnel over a large operating area.
  • Monitor and manage a capital budget and provide support to engineering and operations in capital projects.
  • Provide customers meter test reports as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • ABET accredited engineering degree with preference toward computer/software engineering.
