Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
  • Ten (10+) years of experience in network engineering, with at least 5 years’ experience in a Tier III role.
  • Proven experience with network design, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Cisco Certified Network Expert (CCIE) or equivalent certification.
  • In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and MPLS.
  • Expertise in network technologies, such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Experience with network management systems, such as SNMP, NMS, and monitoring tools.
  • Strong understanding of network security principles and practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects.
  • SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Top Secret/SCI level with Counter Intelligence Polygraph. US Citizenship is a requirement for Top Secret clearance at this location.
Responsibilities
  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization’s network infrastructure, ensuring high availability, reliability, and security.
  • Design and implement network architectures that meet business requirements and DoD best practices.
  • Develop and maintain network topology diagrams, documentation, and configuration management.
  • Troubleshoot complex network issues, identifying root causes and implementing solutions.
  • Collaborate with Tier I and II engineers to resolve network issues, providing guidance and expertise.
  • Ensure network security and compliance with DoD standards and regulations.
  • Implement and maintain security measures, such as firewalls, VPNs, and access controls.
  • Perform network upgrades, patches, and maintenance, ensuring minimal downtime and impact.
  • Monitor network performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing optimizations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, development, and operations.
  • Communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders, providing clear explanations and solutions.
  • Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and training on network technologies and best practices.
  • Share knowledge and expertise with the team, contributing to the development of network engineering best practices.
  • Lead or participate in network-related projects, ensuring timely completion and successful outcomes.
  • Develop and manage project plans, resource allocation, and budgeting.
