Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent and two years of call center experience are required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated job-related knowledge, proficiency, and performance are required.
Responsibilities
  • Provide communication support services, including general clerical, general information, way-finding, technical support, provider/service referral, patient registration, and scheduling services to patients on behalf of physicians and medical providers.
  • Collect, assess, submit, process, and update sensitive and confidential information.
  • Resolve patient access issues within established limits while working with confidential information from various business systems and following multiple workflow protocols.
  • Participate in executing new call center protocols and procedures.
  • Provide guidance on the most complex calls and issues and act as a subject-matter expert for team members.
  • Monitor and audit customer interactions for quality and accuracy.
  • Handle complex calls and precept new employees as needed.
  • Research and contribute to executing new protocols and procedures, answer questions, and review department trackers for accuracy.
  • Answer and guide patients through complex inquiries using expert knowledge and department-specific protocols.
  • Determine when situations warrant contacting administrators, on-call physicians, Security, or Public Relations.
  • Research, resolve, and document non-routine paging issues that impact or delay patient care.
  • Perform disaster protocols as required and escalate inquiries appropriately to ensure calls are resolved and documented.
  • Balance inbound and outbound activity with clerical and administrative work.
  • Initiate outbound communications according to prescribed protocols and standard operating procedures, including appointment reminders, wait and recall list management, and communications about event cancellations, changes, and updates.
  • Monitor appointment schedules, systems, and resources.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to improve efficiency, reduce cost, and reduce waste.
  • Alert leads and supervisors to issues affecting contact center performance.
  • Respond to internal and external customer and stakeholder inquiries and connect callers using applicable branding standards and entity protocols.
  • Keep abreast of regulations and compliance requirements and apply best practices.
  • Attend and contribute to meetings and training sessions to maintain adherence to communication protocols, organizational goals, system updates, and documentation requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
