Requirements
  • At least 15 years of progressive experience in commercial construction, including significant tenure in preconstruction and/or business development leadership.
  • A Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of work experience and education.
  • Experience in business ownership, business acquisition, market growth, and development of new service offerings.
  • A demonstrated track record of revenue growth and business development success in the Pacific Northwest commercial construction market.
  • Experience leading large, cross-functional preconstruction teams covering estimating, building information modeling/virtual design and construction, scheduling, and procurement.
  • Knowledge of emerging methods and technology in commercial construction, especially artificial intelligence use cases.
  • Expertise in contract and documentation practices used in commercial construction.
  • Working knowledge of financial reports and financial analysis used in Service Group and/or Special Projects.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence C-suite and owner/developer stakeholders.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Expert organizational, scheduling, and planning skills.
  • Ability to learn new technologies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with new and diverse groups of people.
  • Solid budget and cost-estimating skills.

Responsibilities
  • Own preconstruction end-to-end, from the first conceptual estimate through guaranteed maximum price.
  • Expand the company's market presence with developers, property owners, and commercial clients across the Pacific Northwest and beyond.
  • Partner with the Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Executive Officer to shape how the company competes.
  • Sharpen the company's pricing philosophy.
  • Advance alternative delivery methods, including Design-Build, Progressive Design-Build, and GCCM.
  • Position preconstruction as a competitive differentiator.

  • An established network among Pacific Northwest commercial real estate developers, architects, and owners.
  • Experience scaling a construction business unit through a high-growth phase.
  • Expertise in alternative project delivery, including Design-Build, Progressive Design-Build, and/or GCCM.
