Requirements
  • Basic knowledge and practice of International Council for Harmonisation Good Clinical Practice guidelines, Food and Drug Administration regulations and guidelines, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act regulations, confidentiality policy, and Institutional Review Board policies related to clinical research.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook, as well as Internet functions.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask efficiently.
  • An Associate degree, or a High School degree with 1–2 years of regulatory or administrative assistant/office management experience.
  • Ability to meet the listed physical and sensory requirements, including prolonged sitting and standing, frequent fingering, handling, reaching, bending, and lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Review, prepare, and submit clinical trial protocols to the Institutional Review Board to ensure compliance with local, state, International Council for Harmonisation Good Clinical Practice, and federal regulations.
  • Provide administrative support to the regulatory team within the Clinical Trials Office.
  • Process Investigational New Drug safety reports via Excel for industry, institutional, and National Cancer Institute National Clinical Trials Network studies.
  • Track Institutional Review Board submissions, approvals, and expiration dates for initial, annual, and amendment submissions.
  • Ensure submissions are accurate, properly formatted, complete, and compliant with regulations and Institutional Review Board policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the regulatory team and other clinical trials staff to develop and maintain procedures for managing regulatory aspects of clinical trials.
  • Acquire appropriate signatures for regulatory forms and develop tracking tools for the signature process.
  • Prepare, maintain, and file essential regulatory documentation required by sponsors or contract research organizations, including Form FDA 1572s, financial disclosure forms, delegation logs, curricula vitae, medical licenses, financial conflict of interest forms, serious adverse events, unanticipated adverse problems, and training logs.
  • Collect, maintain, and file institutional clinical trials training requirements and tracking logs, including the National Institutes of Health conflict-of-interest tutorial, Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative Good Clinical Practice training, conflict-of-interest disclosure statements, curricula vitae, and medical licenses.
  • Collect, maintain, and file institutional laboratory documents and tracking logs, including laboratory normal reference ranges, College of American Pathologists documentation, Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments documentation, laboratory permits, and laboratory director curricula vitae and medical licenses.
  • Maintain National Cancer Institute investigator registration annually for National Clinical Trials Network studies.
