Requirements
- Able to lift 50 pounds
- Must wear closed-toed shoes and dress appropriately for the weather
- Work can be in indoor and outdoor spaces with high temperatures and dusty conditions
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of facilities maintenance work to include grounds and mechanical general duties in support of physical plant summer tasks throughout college-owned facilities
- Responsibilities will vary depending on the trades in each department such as Grounds and Mechanical
- Operations Mechanical: ladder climbing, stair climbing, standing, bending, paint smells, closed shoes, working in both indoor and outdoor spaces which may include high temperature and dusty conditions
- Grounds: staff are required to wear closed-toed shoes and should dress appropriately for the weather; work can be physically demanding; standing, walking, bending, crouching, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling required
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to understand and read written and verbal instructions and follow through
- Ability to interact positively with a wide variety of customers
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Experience with or a willingness to learn equipment including hand tools, mowers, weed eaters, and loppers preferred
