Requirements
  • At least 1 year of serving experience in upscale casual, casual-fine, fine dining, or an equivalent hospitality role.
  • Strong communication, guest-recovery, and teamwork skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Working knowledge of point-of-sale systems such as MICROS or Toast and reservations platforms such as Resy or SevenRooms.
  • Food Handler and Responsible Alcohol Service certifications, or the ability to obtain them.
  • Reliable attendance and schedule flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to learn and retain detailed menu and beverage knowledge.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, up to 8 or more hours.
  • Ability to lift and carry 25–35 pounds, balance and carry trays, and frequently bend and reach.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with variable noise, temperature, and lighting.
Responsibilities
  • Provide genuine, anticipatory hospitality from greeting through farewell and adapt the pace and style of service to each guest.
  • Present menus, describe features, and make thoughtful, personalized recommendations.
  • Maximize sales through suggestive selling, coursing guidance, pairings, and check-building with integrity.
  • Manage the assigned section, including timing, coursing, seat numbers, and table maintenance to company standards.
  • Enter orders accurately, monitor fire times, and coordinate with food runners, bar, and expo.
  • Perform table touches and quality checks and anticipate needs for refills, share plates, and utensils.
  • Maintain current knowledge of menu items, ingredients, sourcing, allergens, and preparation.
  • Understand the basics of wine, spirits, and beer, as well as featured cocktails and pairing suggestions.
  • Participate in tastings, line-ups, and trainings and retain and apply new information.
  • Resolve guest concerns promptly with empathy and sound judgment and involve leadership when needed.
  • Use guest feedback tools and follow escalation protocols to ensure issues are fully addressed.
  • Follow health codes, allergy protocols, sanitation procedures, responsible alcohol service policies, and age-verification procedures.
  • Keep stations and sidework areas organized for safety and readiness.
  • Complete opening, closing, and shift sidework, including restocking, polishing, and station setup and breakdown.
  • Support expo, runner, and reset duties during peak periods to keep service flowing.
  • Use the point-of-sale system accurately, handle cash and payments according to policy, and protect guest data and receipts.
  • Follow comp, void, and discount procedures and maintain check integrity.
  • Support private dining and events with preset menus, coursing timelines, and coordinated service when applicable.
