Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience managing capital projects in a petrochemical, refining, or heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
  • A bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
  • Project management experience working in a phased project process.
  • Effective managerial capability.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication and critical-thinking skills.
  • Familiarity with Process Safety Management—Management of Change.
  • The physical ability to work around and on industrial equipment, including frequent climbing of stairs and ladders.
  • The ability to wear personal protective equipment in designated areas, including a respirator, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, heeled boots, and hearing protection.
  • Authorization to work in the United States for Motiva Enterprises without sponsorship of an immigration authorization or employment-based visa.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning and execution of small to medium-sized capital projects and complex engineering programs from initiation through completion.
  • Develop and manage project scope, work plans, schedules, resource requirements, cost estimates, budgets, and project controls.
  • Coordinate cross-functional engineering, technical, operational, and business teams to ensure effective project integration and execution.
  • Manage day-to-day project activities, track milestones and deliverables, and ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with approved scope.
  • Monitor project costs, resources, risks, and performance while ensuring accurate and timely reporting to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve complex technical and project-related issues, providing recommendations and coaching to team members as needed.
  • Evaluate technology and technical solutions for complex project challenges and drive appropriate decisions within project scope.
  • Establish, implement, and maintain project management standards, processes, tools, and best practices to improve project delivery and efficiency.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, vendors, subcontractors, and project partners, while managing expectations and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Ensure projects meet applicable quality, service-level, HSSE, regulatory, and compliance requirements while identifying opportunities for continuous process improvement.

  • Project Management Professional certification.
