Solar Landscape Launches 14 Community Solar Projects In Maryland

Solar Landscape, a leading U.S. commercial rooftop solar developer, has energized 14 new community solar projects across Maryland with a total capacity of 6.6 megawatts.The installations are the first in a group of 57 rooftop projects the company is developing in the state. When fully operational, the portfolio will provide 55 megawatts (DC) of solar capacity, enough to power about 5,870 homes, making it the largest group of community solar projects by a single company in Maryland.“Community solar projects like the ones we’ve energized create jobs, reduce energy costs and help Maryland meet its energy needs,” said Solar Landscape CEO and co-founder Shaun Keegan. “Putting large solar installations on commercial rooftops is a smart, shovel-ready energy solution that also pays dividends to building owners.”The newly operational projects are located in Baltimore, Gaithersburg, Bel Air, Bethesda, Burtonsville, Dundalk, Owings Mills, Westminster and Woodlawn. Big Year For Solar Landscape, Which Raised Record $847 Million In Project Investment

Asbury Park-based Solar Landscape announced Monday that it has secured $847 million in project investment and financing in 2024.This transactional volume — the largest ever in a single year for the company — will enable Solar Landscape to deploy more than 200 commercial rooftop solar installations across the country, enough to power well over 50,000 households.Solar Landscape also announced that in 2024 it signed contracts for 40 million square feet of additional commercial and industrial rooftop space to develop solar projects.Solar Landscape, the nation’s leading commercial and industrial rooftop solar developer, partnered with 10 investors and financing counterparties in 2024 to raise $847 million in proceeds from debt, equity, and tax equity to execute on its ambitious growth agenda.KeyState Renewables committed, through two investment vehicles, to invest $184 million in tax equity toward commercial solar projects developed by Solar Landscape. KeyState Renewables is coordinating several regional banks as tax investors in the tax equity portfolio. Proceeds from the tax equity commitment will finance the operation of 101 solar projects for well over 100 megawatts of capacity, all developed and owned by Solar Landscape. The projects will span more than 8.5 million square feet of commercial and industrial rooftops.Silicon Valley Bank, a division of First Citizens Bank, led a $283 million green loan with social co-benefits for commercial rooftop solar projects. Silicon Valley Bank, KeyBanc Capital Markets and National Bank of Canada were coordinating lead arrangers, which also included an array of institutional investors and participating banks.
