Kaiser Aluminum is a North American producer of semi-fabricated aluminum products. It manufactures plate, sheet, coil, extrusions, and forgings and uses value-added fabrication to deliver engineered aluminum parts, often with a pass-through pricing model to manage metal-cost volatility. The company differentiates itself through long-standing vertical integration from primary production to fabrication and by serving high-barrier markets such as aerospace, defense, automotive, and packaging, including its 2021 expansion via Warrick to boost packaging capabilities. Its goal is to provide engineered aluminum solutions and value-added products to North American customers for critical industries like aerospace, automotive, defense, and packaging.

What believers are saying

  • Q2 2026 conversion revenue hit $437 million and adjusted EBITDA reached $166 million.
  • Management raised 2026 EBITDA guidance to 45%-55% growth after strong packaging and aerospace demand.
  • Fred Stephan joins November 1, 2026 after Amcor, bringing global manufacturing discipline.

What critics are saying

  • Warrick’s coating-line ramp remained slower than expected in 2025, constraining packaging growth.
  • Aerospace destocking cut 2025 shipments 5%, and recovery depends on customer inventory rebuilds.
  • A prolonged aerospace slump would gut Kaiser’s premium margins and cash generation.

What makes Kaiser Aluminum unique

  • Kaiser Aluminum’s Trentwood and Warrick mills anchor scarce aerospace and packaging capacity.
  • Kaiser Aluminum sells conversion revenue across aerospace, packaging, engineering, and automotive, diversifying demand.
  • Its pass-through metal pricing protects margins better than commodity smelters.

Jim Cramer says Kaiser Aluminum 'just straight up', can't recommend despite strong Q1 results

Kaiser Aluminum Corporation reported strong Q1 2026 results on 22 April, with non-GAAP earnings per share of $3.74, beating estimates by $1.78. Revenues rose 41.6% year-over-year to $1.1 billion, exceeding estimates by $100.1 million. The semi-fabricated specialty aluminium products manufacturer expects 10% to 15% improvement in conversion revenue and 20% to 30% growth in adjusted EBITDA for full-year 2026. Despite the strong performance and tailwinds from tariffs, CNBC's Jim Cramer declined to recommend the stock during Mad Money's lightning round, citing its sharp recent price appreciation. "I can't recommend it. It's just straight up," Cramer told a caller asking about the company.
