Requirements
- The candidate must have 7 to 10 years of experience, including progressively responsible experience in Quality.
- The candidate must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing across the site organization and business unit.
- The candidate must be able to create and deliver presentations to customers, senior leadership, regulators, certification bodies, and employees.
- The candidate must be able to communicate and advocate company positions on complex or controversial issues clearly, concisely, and professionally.
- The candidate must be able to work effectively with multiple stakeholders, including site teams and program teams.
- The candidate must have a demonstrated track record of successful site Quality Management System implementation and sustaining or maintenance activities, including customer, regulator, third-party, and AS9100 audits and results.
- The candidate must have project management skills to track and status Quality Management System deployment, corrective action plans, defect-per-unit burn-down plans, and foreign object debris control plans.
- The candidate must be able to implement an advanced manufacturing quality acceptance system for operators and mechanics.
- The candidate must have experience with continuous improvement, lean, and/or Six Sigma.
- The candidate must be able to implement and sustain a site-level corrective action board process as part of overall site metrics.
- The candidate must be able to drive continuous improvement in site quality metrics and results for first-pass yield, defects per unit, product escapes, cost of poor quality, corrective action closure, and related outcomes.
- The candidate must have a BA or BS degree in Engineering or an applicable field and 6 to 10 years of progressively responsible Quality experience, or an MA or MS degree in Engineering or an applicable field and 4 to 7 years of progressively responsible Quality experience.
- The candidate must have a technical degree and aerospace exposure.
- The candidate must have management experience leading large groups.
- The candidate must have experience or exposure to PPAP and NADCAP.
- The candidate must have aerospace or automotive experience, with aerospace highly desired.
Responsibilities
- Provide Quality leadership and guidance on Quality Management System matters and product compliance for the facility.
- Make decisions that protect product safety for products and services provided by the business.
- Advocate for the voice of the customer and ensure customer requirements are realized throughout the product and process life cycle.
- Drive the elimination of quality escapes and cost of poor quality.
- Establish procedures for maintaining high standards of quality, reliability, and safety.
- Organize and promote company-wide improvement efforts.
- Implement and maintain the company quality system in accordance with current quality standards, and report on its performance for review and improvement.
- Support development, implementation, and continuous improvement across the organization.
- Lead and develop the site Quality Team to achieve operational excellence, including first-pass yield, zero customer escapes, on-time delivery, employee development plans, and succession planning.
- Act as a liaison with external parties, including regulatory agencies, on quality-system matters.
- Partner with operations and site leadership to drive compliance, quality management, continuous improvement, on-time delivery, and quality results.
- Manage the daily activities of the functional Quality organization, ensure adequate resources for compliance, support cross-training, and interface with operations staff on quality matters.
Desired Qualifications
- PPAP experience is a plus.
- Aerospace experience is highly desired.
