Requirements
  • A minimum Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline is required, with Biomedical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering disciplines specified.
  • A minimum of 7 years of industry experience is required.
  • A background in Manufacturing Engineering or Design/Post Market Engineering is required.
  • Medical device experience is required.
  • The employee must maintain all training requirements for the position.
  • The employee must prepare and maintain accurate documentation consistent with pertinent regulations and Cook's Quality Management System where applicable.
  • The employee must adhere strictly to safety requirements.
  • Regular and punctual attendance is required.

  • The role requires working under general office environmental conditions, sitting for extended periods, using close visual acuity for computers and equipment, and frequently standing, walking, and communicating.
Responsibilities
  • Work with Operations Managers and outside vendors to create methods and machines that support manufacturing capacity for products.
  • Work with Product Development Engineers to develop processes for new products.
  • Work with Operations, Accounting, and Global Product Managers to increase profit margins of current products that do not meet company requirements.
  • Train relevant personnel on new processes.
  • Document cost savings.
  • Write and execute validation protocols.
  • Ensure projects follow design controls established by Quality System Procedures.
  • Work with Quality Assurance and Product Development to verify and validate critical processes or products.
  • Work with management to establish project timelines and a project business case.
  • Act as a resource for operational departments on materials, equipment, and process upgrades.
  • Seek opportunities for continuous development and growth.
  • Interact effectively and professionally with people throughout various levels of the global organization.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Experience with value-stream mapping is preferred.
  • Experience with Lean and/or Six Sigma and corresponding certification is preferred.
  • Experience with Kaizen/Continuous Improvement and corresponding certification is preferred.
  • Experience leading major manufacturing cost-savings efforts through process or design changes is preferred.
