Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering required from an ABET accredited school
  • 15+ plus years of experience
  • Licensed PE in the State of Illinois
  • In depth knowledge of MicroStation Connect and Open Roads
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interface efficiently in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel and Project and other Microsoft 365 software
Responsibilities
  • Perform and lead engineering design tasks for infrastructure projects at any phase from conceptual to final design
  • Develop plans, specifications, reports and technical studies, calculate quantities, and develop cost estimates
  • Mentor and develop new engineers in infrastructure planning and design
  • Lead and coordinate design activities between staff, subcontractors, and clients
  • Perform technical analyses and reviews of infrastructure projects
  • Support Project Managers/Project Engineers to ensure projects meet the defined schedules, budget, and quality standards
  • Assists in preparing and developing proposals, and presentations as needed
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
Desired Qualifications
  • A background in 3D modeling is desirable
  • Experience with a wide variety of clients and project types across the Midwest is desirable
  • Extensive knowledge of IDOT, the Illinois Tollway, CDOT and WisDOT is desirable
  • The ideal candidate will want to focus on a technical based career track providing Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in highway/roadway design and geometrics or traffic and safety engineering
