Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering required from an ABET accredited school
  • 15+ years of experience
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Illinois
  • In depth knowledge of MicroStation Connect and Open Roads
  • A background in 3D modeling is desirable
  • The ideal candidate will focus on a technical based career track providing Subject Matter Expertise in highway/roadway design and geometrics or traffic and safety engineering
  • Ability to interface efficiently in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel and Project and other Microsoft 365 software.
Responsibilities
  • Perform and lead engineering design tasks for infrastructure projects at any phase from conceptual to final design
  • Develop plans, specifications, reports and technical studies, calculate quantities, and develop cost estimates
  • Mentor and develop new engineers in infrastructure planning and design
  • Lead and coordinate design activities between staff, subcontractors, and clients
  • Perform technical analyses and reviews of infrastructure projects
  • Support Project Managers/Project Engineers to ensure projects meet the defined schedules, budget, and quality standards. This may include assisting in the development of Project Management Plans, Scopes of Work, Cost Estimates, and other project planning related activities
  • Assists in preparing and developing proposals, and presentations as needed
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with a wide variety of clients and project types across the Midwest is desirable
  • Extensive knowledge of IDOT, the Illinois Tollway, CDOT and WisDOT is desirable
  • A background in 3D modeling is desirable
