Requirements
  • Must have good written, verbal, organizational, and communication skills and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Must have the ability to prepare and deliver presentations and speak at minor functions as a departmental representative.
  • Must be able to multitask, prioritize, and work independently or within a team environment.
  • Must be able to perform fundamental mathematical functions, including concepts of introductory algebra and geometry.
  • Must be able to develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity and reference policies and practices for guidance.
  • Knowledge of spreadsheets, word processing, presentation, email, and internet software applications.
Responsibilities
  • Adheres to safe work practices.
  • Develop maintenance procedures and ensure implementation.
  • Carry out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues.
  • Check electrical and hydraulic systems of buildings to ensure functionality.
  • Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities.
  • Allocate workload and supervise upkeep staff (custodians, janitors, etc.).
  • Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary.
  • Monitor expenses and control the budget for maintenance.
  • Manage relationships with contractors and service providers.
  • Keep maintenance logs and report on daily activities.
  • Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions.
  • Share a trusting relationship with the workgroup and recruit, manage, and develop plant staff.
  • Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime.
  • Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics, and performance targets to ensure an effective return on assets.
  • Influence and learn from below.
  • Oversees emergency response or crisis management activities.
  • Assist the Safety department with training initiatives.
  • Stay up to date with the latest production management best practices and concepts.
  • Planned and executed production to fulfill all regulatory and SQF requirements.
  • Perform any other duties as required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Five years of divisional leadership experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, typically demonstrated by a bachelor’s degree plus five years of experience or eight or more years of experience.
