The Oklahoma Health Care Authority (OHCA) manages the costs of health care funded by the state in Oklahoma. It ensures that these health care services meet acceptable standards while providing a supportive system for citizens who rely on them. OHCA's main functions include purchasing health care services efficiently, analyzing ways to improve accessibility and quality, and building partnerships to enhance health outcomes for Oklahomans. The agency serves low-income individuals, families, and other vulnerable groups who depend on state-funded health care. Unlike private health care providers, OHCA focuses on cost control, quality assurance, and accessibility within the public health sector. Its goal is to responsibly allocate state and federal funds to procure necessary health care services while maintaining fiscal responsibility and improving the overall health of the community.
