The Advance Technologies - Autonomous Engineering Intern will provide support for the Software Engineering team. Activities will include designing reliable, functional, and cost-effective vehicle control software; develop and test programming for vehicles and systems; support various systems through troubleshooting or reprogramming the system. This role will work on a variety of key projects and initiatives ranging from simple tasks to more complex analytical projects.
YOUR IMPACT
Assist the advanced technologies group (design, industrial, electrical, controls, etc.) with multiple tasks involving the systems engineering functions.
Contribute to the development of a fully autonomous robot using a JLG machine
Investigate novel aspects of autonomy such as motion planning, navigation, and perception
Collaborate with cross functional groups to define stakeholder needs.
Support the development of requirements, design, and verification within team projects.
Generate engineering calculations to support trade-off analysis and simulations.
Assist in the development of system prototypes to validate requirements.
Perform or assist in the testing of complete machines or vehicle sub-systems.
Design, model and test new systems that integrate with a machine.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Student working towards a Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Robotics, Software Engineering or other related engineering field.
Experience with navigation system and performance analysis of navigation systems
Experience developing and integrating state estimation algorithms for localization, calibration, mapping, or SLAM applications in robotic systems.
Experience with object-oriented programming.
Proactive delivery of communication and follow up.
Must have the ability to independently prioritize and accomplish work within time constraints.
Experience with ROS2, C++, and Python
Ability to maintain confidentiality of various degrees of information.
STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS
Previous internship experience or work-related experience.
Ability to work independently while prioritizing workload.
Proficiency in modern software development workflows and practices, including version control, pipelines, and unit testing, and peer review.
Flexible and adaptable to working under tight deadlines and/or changing needs.
A desire to learn multiple disciplines of engineering.

Pay Range:
$18.00 - $37.00
The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate’s experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
