Requirements
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is required, with equivalent experience considered.
  • At least 15 years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 5 years in a Staff- or Principal-level role focused on customer-facing web and mobile platforms.
  • Expert proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript, with deep production experience in React and React Native, including React Native Web.
  • Deep hands-on expertise with Git/GitHub, Node.js, Next.js, Visual Studio Code, React DevTools, Postman, Expo CLI, Azure CLI, and BrowserStack.
  • Hands-on experience building Backend-for-Frontend services and Web APIs in .NET and C# for customer-facing web and mobile experiences.
  • Experience leading engineering teams in adopting GitHub Codespaces for containerized development environments and GitHub Copilot Enterprise for AI-assisted development.
  • Strong expertise in utility-first CSS frameworks such as Tailwind and NativeWind, component-pattern libraries such as shadcn/ui-style systems for React Native, and font and typography management across web and mobile.
  • Demonstrated ownership of large-scale, production-grade web and mobile applications serving millions of users or business-critical workflows.
  • Strong command of modern state management patterns, RESTful and/or GraphQL API design, and the full mobile app lifecycle, including build, release, store submission, and over-the-air updates.
  • Hands-on experience with modern continuous integration and continuous delivery tools, automated testing frameworks, and observability tooling.
  • Experience with authentication and identity standards including OIDC, OAuth2, single sign-on, and multi-factor authentication, as well as secure handling of customer data.
  • Proven ability to mentor senior engineers and influence engineering direction across multiple teams without direct reporting authority.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting technical strategy to executive stakeholders.
  • At least 10 years of relevant engineering experience, including senior individual contributor leadership, is also stated in the additional job description.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the principal technical authority for customer web and mobile platforms, owning end-to-end architecture across React and React Native applications, including React Native Web.
  • Translate enterprise digital strategy into technical roadmaps, design specifications, and reference implementations.
  • Set foundational engineering standards for Git/GitHub workflows, the Node.js runtime and package management, Visual Studio Code, GitHub Codespaces, GitHub Copilot Enterprise, Expo CLI, Azure CLI, Postman, React DevTools, and BrowserStack.
  • Define the design-system and styling architecture for the customer experience, including utility-first styling, shared component patterns, and consistent typography across web and mobile.
  • Lead complex architectural decisions spanning front-end frameworks, application structure, state management, API contracts, and the mobile app lifecycle.
  • Drive adoption of modern frameworks and tooling that improve developer velocity, performance, accessibility, and security.
  • Establish and enforce coding standards, design patterns, code review practices, and continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines for web and mobile delivery.
  • Define and uphold standards for authentication, identity, secure storage, observability, feature experimentation, and customer engagement integrations.
  • Implement search engine optimization best practices, including server-side rendering, static site generation, semantic markup, structured data, Core Web Vitals, and content delivery network and edge strategies.
  • Partner with security, compliance, and platform teams to ensure customer-facing experiences meet regulatory and industry requirements.
  • Lead technical due diligence on emerging technologies, third-party software development kits, and System Integrator deliverables, and recommend build, buy, or partner decisions.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership for complex initiatives involving performance optimization, observability, and resiliency engineering.
  • Mentor Senior and Staff Engineers, lead architecture review boards, and grow front-end and mobile technical talent.
  • Define and track engineering key performance indicators such as page performance, crash-free sessions, accessibility conformance, and deployment frequency, and report progress to senior leadership.
  • Represent the customer engineering organization in cross-functional executive forums and external technology partnerships.
  • Set technical direction across multiple teams led by managers and senior engineers.
  • Own technical execution of strategy for a sub-function with short- to mid-term impact on results.
  • Influence peers, leaders, and executive stakeholders to adopt new practices, frameworks, and architectural approaches.
  • Act as a key technical advisor to the Senior Director and broader engineering leadership team.
  • Communicate with executive leadership on matters of significant technical importance when required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with the Expo ecosystem, including Expo SDK and Expo CLI, and unified mobile and web codebases.
  • Experience integrating headless and traditional content management systems such as Contentful, Sitecore, and Adobe Experience Manager for marketing and content-driven experiences.
  • Experience designing and operating design systems or component libraries adopted across multiple product teams.
  • Experience in regulated industries such as insurance, financial services, or healthcare.
  • Experience with multi-brand or white-label web and mobile platforms.
  • Knowledge of containerization and container-based deployment platforms.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards such as WCAG 2.1 and security frameworks such as OWASP, SOC 2, and PCI.
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms and the Microsoft ecosystem, including Azure and Dynamics 365; familiarity with EIS Suite is a plus.

Insurance Pet Holdings raised the money from 27 investors and sold stock, options and warrants.The company recently acquired cat insurance company Felix for an undisclosed amount. In addition to providing insurance for more than 800,000 pets, Insurance Pet also offers microchip identification and an online pet registry.Dogs make up the majority of insured pets in the United States, with 80.1% of insured dogs compared to 19.9% of insured cats, according to the North American Pet Health Insurance Association State of the Industry Report. The total number of pets insured in 2022 reached 5.36 million, up from 4.4 million in 2021, according to the report.The pet insurance market size was valued at $9.4 billion in 2022 and is estimated to expand at a compound annual growth rate of 17.04% from 2023 to 2030, according to Grand View Research.Its CEO is Lane Kent, who had served as chief operating officer since the company’s formation in 2021.
