About The Role

Our People Operations team is small but mighty.  We work together to create a creative, cohesive, and inclusive work environment free of distractions so that people can do their best work.  Reporting to the Director of People, we are looking for a People Operations Generalist to help employees throughout the employee lifecycle with anything from getting their benefits selected on their first day to completing their exit interview on their last day.  This person will be an integral part of the People Operations team, and will be there to help assist others on the team with their projects on an as needed basis.  

About The Work

• Be the first line of contact for any employee questions that come to the people team; researching answers or escalating issues as needed 
• Manage open enrollment, answer questions on our benefits and perks, and work closely with our benefits broker to ensure all benefits related issues are handled accurately and timely 
• Work with our leave vendor and payroll to ensure that employees leaves are handled correctly
• Manage workers compensation claims, employment verifications, unemployment claims, and any state or government reporting 
• Work closely with the office manager or other functional leads on onsite events in our Salem, OR office.
• Research any new compliance issues and add or change current policies and/or in our handbook to reflect new laws
• Work closely with the HRBPs to ensure terminations are processed 
• Work on other adhoc requests or projects as needed and as interested, such as Wellness Wednesdays, DEI initiatives, social media content creation, etc.  

About You

• You have 5+ years of experience working in People Operations with a non-exempt and exempt employee population 
• You have a really strong attention to detail 
• You are able to juggle multiple projects at a time at various stages and prioritize tasks based on importance and urgency
• You are able to handle confidential information with care and sensitivity and are able to have difficult conversations with employees at all levels 
• You exude positivity and enjoy social settings 
• You are able to foresee issues before they arise and problem solve for those issues accordingly 
• You are able to work from our Salem, OR location 2 days/week 
• Authorization to work in the USA
• NOTE: This role is open to being a Senior People Operations Generalist with more experience; must have manufacturing experience in order to be considered for the higher level position
