Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Two years of formal technical training and at least ten years of related experience are required.
  • Experience with equipment installation or similar work is required.
  • PC knowledge and familiarity with Microsoft applications are required.
  • The ability to read and interpret standard service manuals, installation manuals, and mechanical diagrams is required.
  • Basic mathematics skills, including calculations and measurement conversions, are required.
  • Working knowledge of Windows applications and Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel is required.
  • The ability to read and understand business safety guidelines is required.
  • The ability to lift up to 75 pounds, climb ladders, walk extensively, drive extensively, kneel, squat, bend, push and pull, work in confined spaces, operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment, and operate machinery or power tools is required.
  • The ability to communicate orally with individuals inside and outside the organization is required.
  • Crisis and conflict resolution skills are required.
  • The ability to self-motivate, take direction, multitask, adjust priorities quickly, and communicate installation updates to customers is required.
  • Flexibility to work normal business hours as well as early mornings, evenings, weekends, and extended hours when necessary is required.
Responsibilities
  • Enter and manage installation opportunities in the customer relationship management system to develop accurate monthly forecasts.
  • Conduct site installation surveys to collect information for installation feasibility and execution planning.
  • Produce scopes of work and customer-facing installation quotes in the customer relationship management system.
  • Work with dispatchers and branch personnel to schedule installations in Microsoft Field Service while adhering to customer promise dates.
  • Execute installations according to the scope of work, safety manuals, and safety programs, from delivery of the machine at the customer site through successful startup.
  • Manage the installation request inbox.
  • Manage installation schedules and completion dates in the customer relationship management system and communicate information to customers and branch leadership.
  • Update final pricing in customer relationship management opportunities to support branch and organizational financial objectives.
  • Maintain current organizational, industry, and equipment knowledge.
  • Communicate Hobart Service value propositions to customers regarding future service products after the machine warranty expires.
  • Maintain the assigned vehicle and handle installation material-handling equipment.
  • Follow the company's safe-driving policy and other applicable safety policies.
  • Compile and summarize data for supervisors or branch managers to support customer-focused strategies and sales leads.
  • Perform periodic visual safety inspections of vehicles and equipment, report defects, and remove defective items from service until repaired or replaced.
  • Prioritize regular workloads, special tasks, and concurrent projects to complete work accurately and efficiently within established time frames.
  • Conduct site visits, compose quotes, and lead installation crews while managing multiple tasks.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least five years of commercial equipment installation experience is preferred.
  • Mechanical or electrical experience is preferred but not required.
  • An Associate degree is preferred but not required.
  • Experience installing and removing commercial cooking or refrigeration equipment is highly desirable.
  • Prior experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 customer relationship management is desirable.
  • Industry certification is highly desirable.

ITW raises dividend 7% and authorises $6B share buyback programme

Illinois Tool Works Inc. has announced a 7% increase in its annual dividend, raising it from $6.44 to $6.88 per share. The fourth-quarter dividend of $1.72 will be payable on 9 October 2026 to shareholders of record on 30 September 2026. The company's board has also authorised a new $6 billion share repurchase programme. Management will determine the timing and volume of buybacks at its discretion. Christopher O'Herlihy, president and chief executive officer, said the moves reflect the strength of ITW's business model and confidence in long-term growth and free cash flow generation. This marks the company's 63rd consecutive annual dividend increase. ITW is a Fortune 300 manufacturing company with $16 billion in revenue in 2025.
