Requirements
  • 15+ years in software development, including 8+ years in architectural leadership roles, with a focus on cloud and large-scale systems
  • Deep product architecture experience
  • Proven ability to contribute at the executive level, aligning technical direction with business goals and organizational priorities
  • Mastery of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-native architectures, including microservices, serverless, and event-driven design
  • Extensive experience with distributed systems, database design (relational and NoSQL), and event-streaming platforms like Kafka or similar technologies
  • Strong knowledge of languages such as Python, JavaScript, or equivalent
  • Familiarity with machine learning infrastructure, data pipelines, and real-time analytics
  • Demonstrated success in mentoring engineers, influencing organizational technical decisions, and fostering a culture of excellence
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills to align diverse teams and drive consensus
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor engineers and architects with empathy, focusing on their professional growth and technical excellence
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Responsibilities
  • Develop and articulate the long-term architectural strategy, enabling scalability, reliability, and efficiency across our systems
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to shape the company’s technical direction, aligning it with business objectives and growth strategies
  • Drive end-to-end design and execution of complex, cross-functional programs, from legacy system modernization to new platform development
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and best practices to ensure Autodesk stays at the forefront of industry advancements
  • Serve as a trusted mentor to principal engineers, architects, and engineering leaders, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning
  • Act as a bridge between engineering, product management, and business units, driving alignment and solving critical challenges in organizational accountability
  • Define cloud strategies to optimize cost, performance, and security while ensuring a seamless migration to modern cloud-native architectures
  • Architect and oversee systems capable of supporting multi-billion event streams, multi-petabyte-scale storage, and millions of users globally
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience designing systems that handle billions of daily transactions and multi-petabyte-scale data
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance considerations in large-scale systems
  • Experience working in globally distributed teams

  • Direct experience with SaaS products or basic understanding of Autodesk products like AutoCAD and Fusion (preferred)
