Requirements
  • A minimum of 3–4 years of experience in the engine and power generation industry or a closely related technology field.
  • Experience with CAT ET, CAT monitoring software, SIS Web, and TMI.
  • Understanding of applicable codes, including NFPA, NEMA, and NEC.
  • A clean driving record, including no more than two minor violations within the past three years and no major violations within the past five years; a motor vehicle review will be performed on the final candidate.
  • Ability to work varying schedules and hours as needed.
  • Ability to sit at a desk for extended periods, use a telephone and keyboard, travel by vehicle, walk, bend, and lift up to 20 pounds, and wear required safety equipment when needed.
Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and validate products and applications for generator set packages.
  • Review project documents for compliance with project requirements and specifications.
  • Provide engineering support to field service technicians and sales personnel as necessary.
  • Provide application support to customers and engineers when needed.
  • Support the production shop to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Prepare project submittals required by specifications for equipment approval and subsequent release.
  • Assist the sales team with providing accurate quotes.
  • Design and evaluate custom components or systems for unique customer applications.
  • Manage multiple genset projects from design through production, including drawings, technical decisions, and project execution.
  • Troubleshoot build issues with production, answer technical questions, and support on-time delivery.
  • Collaborate with operations, supply chain, quality, and customers to deliver functional packaged systems.
  • Ensure projects stay on schedule and provide satisfactory outcomes for customers and end users.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Inventor or a similar computer-aided design package.
  • Knowledge of diesel and natural gas generator sets.
  • Basic knowledge of paralleling switchgear, generator set remote fuel systems, and remote cooling systems.
  • Previous direct management experience.
  • A B.S. in Engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • Military or veteran status is encouraged for applicants.
