Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Build, lead, and develop a team of sales development professionals to achieve pipeline attainment, relationship development, and product-knowledge goals.
  • Direct the daily activities and direction of a sales development team of four or more sales development representatives, business development representatives, and team leads.
  • Conduct weekly one-on-one meetings with all team employees.
  • Design and execute strategic outbound and inbound sales development plans.
  • Set and manage quotas for Sales Accepted Leads and Sales Qualified Opportunities.
  • Direct the team to achieve monthly Sales Accepted Lead, Sales Qualified Opportunity, and sourced-pipeline targets.
  • Track and deliver accurate weekly, quarterly, and annual forecasts.
  • Assist with recruiting sales development team members.
  • Ensure staff development in prospecting, discovery, and objection-handling skills.
  • Provide weekly one-on-one training and build coaching plans focused on pipeline attainment, relationship development, and product knowledge.
  • Provide and receive feedback and improve sales development processes.
  • Analyze team call activity to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Assist in designing sales training, including training in the MEDDPICC sales methodology.
  • Serve as the daily point of contact for technical questions about ShipStation.
  • Maintain expert-level knowledge of the company's product line, including features, business applications, upgrades, new functions, and partner integrations.
  • Partner with Marketing and Product Marketing to align lead flow, campaign strategy, and value messaging.
  • Collaborate with Revenue Operations on reporting, forecasting, tooling, and data hygiene.
  • Align with Sales and Account Executive leadership on lead handoff, service-level agreements, and feedback loops.
  • Work with People and Talent on hiring, compensation design, and career-path communication.
  • Coordinate with Customer Success and Finance on capacity planning and go-to-market strategy.
  • Develop cross-functional relationships and drive sales needs within other departments.
  • Manage Sales team relationships and strategy with key channel partners such as the United States Postal Service.
  • Set and manage goals, provide ongoing coaching and corrective action, conduct annual reviews, recognize and reward performance, and support team and individual development.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, workplace practices, employment law, timekeeping, anti-harassment requirements, and diversity requirements.
  • Build and maintain a positive culture that promotes urgency, continuous learning, accountability, collaboration, and team and individual development.
  • Measure performance through Sales Accepted Leads, Sales Qualified Opportunities, qualified meetings, sourced pipeline, influenced subscription revenue, quota attainment, new-hire ramp time, retention, promotion rates, lead response time, activity volume, and funnel conversion rates.
  • Perform other related duties as requested.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in eCommerce, logistics or shipping, or software as a service is preferred.
  • Experience building or scaling a sales development representative or business development representative function is preferred.
  • Familiarity with sales methodology such as MEDDPICC is preferred.
  • Experience with sales engagement platforms such as Outreach or Salesloft is preferred.
  • Experience using ShipStation software is a plus.
