Requirements
  • A minimum bachelor's degree is required; business, economics, finance, or another technical discipline is preferred.
  • One to three years of experience in a KYC or compliance-related role in the financial services or banking industry is required.
  • Experience working in U.S. markets, in a fintech or banking sector, or both is required.
  • A strong understanding of anti-money laundering compliance, know-your-customer due diligence, screening, and financial crime is required.
  • Experience with screening, data mining, and different search engines is required.
  • An interest in financial crime and investigating customer behaviors to identify characteristics of fraudulent users is required.
  • The ability to oversee critical analytics projects independently from end to end is required.
  • The ability to work with limited data and find solutions to unconventional problems is required.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment is required.
  • The ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and remain highly organized in an ambiguous environment is required.

Responsibilities
  • Identify, monitor, evaluate, and address customer account actions involving potential risk, fraud, or suspicious activity.
  • Manage know-your-customer and anti-money laundering processes.
  • Support the origination and in-life management of deposits by conducting customer and enhanced due diligence during onboarding and periodic in-life reviews.
  • Process applications through a workflow system within agreed service-level agreements and goals while complying with company policies and procedures.
  • Perform due diligence checks on prospective and existing customers by requesting know-your-customer information and documentation.
  • Conduct enhanced due diligence on high-risk customers, including evaluating responses concerning sources of wealth and intended account use.
  • Investigate suspicious clients identified by screening systems such as World-Check and Office of Foreign Assets Control lists.
  • Analyze anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism risk involving politically exposed persons, adverse information, business exposure in high-risk and sanctioned countries, and escalate issues to the Legal Team for approval.
  • Follow internal policies and procedures when handling suspicious account activity.
  • Cross-reference multiple databases to identify potential undesirable client matches.
  • Improve processes, conduct training, and develop standard operating procedures.
