Requirements
  • Experience of working with young people and knowledge of the issues they face.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding concerns in relation to children and young people and the Fraser Competence framework.
  • An excellent understanding of drug and alcohol issues and experience of working within a related field.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practice around young people’s substance misuse treatment services and methods, including relevant best practice guidance.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a high degree of personal information technology competency.
  • Ability to accurately update and maintain records and work to deadlines for submitting information.
  • Teamworking and interpersonal skills, with a cooperative approach to supporting colleagues in delivering service objectives.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a car.
  • Willingness and ability to work county-wide across Buckinghamshire.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and develop targeted interventions, including group work, outreach, and brief interventions.
  • Deliver engaging group programmes for young people at risk.
  • Increase the visibility and accessibility of the service among children, young people, families, and partners to increase referrals for specialist support.
  • Build strong relationships with schools, professionals, and partner agencies.
  • Provide training and support to professionals to help identify and respond to young people’s needs.
  • Use data and insight to shape and improve services.
  • Support volunteers and Youth Ambassadors to deliver impactful work.
  • Support the development of projects that increase visibility, create awareness, and improve engagement, including educational programmes, informative resources, and prevention pathways.
  • Ensure effective and consistent young people’s involvement through the Youth Ambassador Programme, including coproduction.
  • Support the coordination and development of the service’s social media activity.

Services include drug and alcohol treatment, recovery support, health and wellbeing programs, housing assistance, and help for families.
