Requirements
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
  • Ability to perform manual tasks requiring moderate strength.
  • At least two years of previous supervisory experience, or one to two years of experience at GGW as a lead worker or custodian in good standing plus supervisory training as a substitute.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 40 pounds; prolonged walking and standing and frequent bending, reaching, and stooping are required.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain cleanliness in assigned facility areas.
  • Supervise assigned janitorial employees on weekdays and assigned weekends.
  • Orient and train new employees.
  • Conduct floor-care training and procedures.
  • Perform cleaning duties including dusting lights, furniture, and horizontal surfaces; dry mopping hard floors; vacuuming carpets; emptying and cleaning trash containers and ashtrays; spot-cleaning walls and windows; and using a high-speed buffer to burnish hard floors.
  • Establish daily staffing requirements for various functions.
  • Perform daily physical inspections in assigned areas.
  • Mix basic cleaning solutions.
  • Maintain supply and utility rooms in clean and proper condition daily.
  • Assist with inventory control through proper daily usage.
  • Prepare weekly quality-control reports and written inspection reports.
  • Evaluate and develop rapport with employees in the assigned building.
  • Perform duties in accordance with divisional and organizational RISE values and expectations.
