Requirements
  • A community college degree in Computer Engineering or Information Security.
  • At least 10 years of experience in incident response or emergency response teams as a lead incident handler.
  • At least 10 years of experience in cyber incident response as a lead incident handler.
  • At least 10 years of experience in identity and access management as a senior analyst, specialist, or leader.
  • Proficiency in cybersecurity frameworks, compliance requirements, and standards such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework, OSFI B13, and PCI DSS.
  • Experience in IT operations, IT service management, infrastructure, or cloud in a senior technical role.
  • Experience in team management, performance management, mentoring, and coaching.
  • Experience in cybersecurity governance and risk management.
  • Experience with technical cloud operations and design using Azure and AWS.
  • Knowledge of insurance or financial business principles.
  • Clear and proficient documentation and communication skills.
  • Certifications across multiple security domains, such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC-GCIH, or GIAC-GSEC.
Responsibilities
  • Manage the security operations team responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security incidents.
  • Implement and maintain security measures and controls to safeguard sensitive data and systems.
  • Ensure accurate security logging and drive continuous improvement of the security program and supporting documents.
  • Act as relationship owner for the managed detection and response partner, ensuring vendor performance and service delivery meet service-level agreements.
  • Ensure the team has the coverage, capacity, and skills needed to investigate and respond to security breaches.
  • Create and continuously develop incident response plans and procedures.
  • Own security emergency response procedures and develop associated playbooks and workflows.
  • Lead engagement with technical and business departments to plan for incidents and develop security best practices.
  • Provide leadership for implementing workforce and broker identity and access management solutions and operating processes.
  • Manage the identity and access management team, ensuring coverage, capacity, and skills development.
  • Provide operational oversight for identity and access management and identity governance tooling, controls, data, performance metrics, and reports.
  • Continuously develop and optimize joiner, mover, and leaver processes for account lifecycle management.
  • Act as a key stakeholder in modernizing the identity governance program.
  • Ensure team members maintain proficiency regarding current cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and attack vectors.
  • Manage the threat intelligence function so intelligence data is analyzed and trends and risks are identified quickly and reliably.
  • Provide cybersecurity expertise to networking and cloud engineering teams to reduce exposure to emerging threats.
  • Develop and continuously improve reporting metrics and dashboards for department operational reporting.
  • Use security information and event management, data warehouse, and analytics systems for data discovery, high-level forensics, and analysis of security telemetry.
  • Determine and ensure collection of service-level agreements, key performance indicators, and key risk indicators across security teams.
  • Create monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports and dashboards.
  • Deliver and present reports to senior leadership, including trends, outcomes, and interpretation of data points.
  • Co-own emergency response procedures for physical security with Facilities and Shared Services.
  • Work with Shared Services and Facilities leaders to develop and improve physical security across company offices and facilities.
  • Coordinate with business departments to create playbooks and procedures for responding to physical threats.
  • Lead physical incident response for threats, imminent situations, and active situations.
